Up on my first visit I signed a contract. I understand that and I am fine with that. I was receiving my medication from my own family doctor. He wrote me two new medications and lowered one. I went into the office today after I had my mri to understand the results and hopefully find out what was going to be done. The doctor gave me another shot to block the nerve pain. And suggested anther procedure he wanted to try. I said okay. I go to the waiting room and wait to be called and when called I was informed that I have to pay $450.00 for the procedure and If the insurance company does not pay I will be responsible for the whole thing. $650.00. As I was going through the paperwork I did see any refills for my medicine. I asked why. I was told that you have 5 days left. I said I understand that. But than why am I here today than? Just a check up. I have a $30.00 copay. I have to go back in a few days and pay again $30.00 to get my refills. I thought. I was told that I would not receive my refills until I go through the procedures. I explained that it is so close to Christmas and I just had to pay over a $1000.00 for the mri. I asked if I could please wait till after Christmas to have it done. I was told no. And that none of my medicine would be refilled until I go through the procedure. I would suggest that if you are considering using this doctor's office that you ask before you signed anything. I can live with out my medication for pain. Can you? Just be advised of hidden procedures that will be forced upon you. I have a high risk job. I am drug tested almost every month at random. I can not take anything unless a doctor proscribed it. And my levels must be with in the proscribed limits. Thank you and hopefully in some way this will help you in making a decision upon a doctor.
