WATCH OUT FOR THE PARKING FEES! Today I had an appointment at the Xray and scanning facility within the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital precinct. At the moment I have an injured knee which means that I do not want to walk much more than a city block. The only parking available around the hospital precinct is the paid parking (park and walk through the hospital and out the other side = one block). The parking fees are rediculous! Check the website...I was there one and a quarter hours for a cost of $7:20!! I'm disgusted at the rates and the strict implementation of no parking zones in the area around the hospital. There is virtually no free parking (two spaces only?) within two blocks, for any period of time. If you're sick or visiting a friend, be prepared to walk from up near Spotlight or from across the bridge, or pay up! Paying the medical bills is bad enough. No medical rebates on parking either!
