one of the most demeaning experiences of my life. I was a walk in client with a serious case of tooth decay. At the time I was on a disability dental plan, When I arrived I did not have picture id on me. The dr. (his receptionist was ill that day) took my care card sin number and info to input into his computer, proceeded to do a pre exam and xrays. At this point he went back to the front computer to see how much coverage I had left. When he returned he told me I had 800+ left. before he would tell me what the xrays showed I was made to drive from goldstream to mill bay so I could prove I was who I said I was with picture id. REally? I gave him all other forms of id at entry, I provided my history of dental visits and had my gp confirm my prescriptions , but this was not enough for him I was a guy trying to get a free ride on the tooth extraction train as he saw it! I did the return trip provided the id and finally thought the suffering was going to end. As I sat in the chair ready to resolve weeks of pain I expected to pull the problem tooth and be told of others on there way out. instead my diagnosis then reflected my budget, I was told to pull the tooth behind the one causing the pain as it had a cavity that would soon hurt, he then insisted that I get a root canal on the problem tooth. At this time the painful tooth was broken in half and had a hole the size of a lady bug, and he wanted to fix this one? He told me it could be done for $811, 1.25 cents would remain in my benefits. I said what ever it takes for this pain to stop. He removed the one tooth and only once removed informed me that it was to much stress on my gums to do the root canal at this time thus leaving the problem tooth in place. now with my mouth frozen and feeling like i was clear of the pain for now I agreed to rebook for the root canal. 7 days later was the day! the night before my appointment I fell ill with a flu. I remembered that I was told missed appointments would be charged with out 24hrs notice of cancellation so I called and left a message. 905 pm do for a 100o am apt. (I know not 24hr but as soon as I fell sick). the next morning at 645 I got the first call from him. As I was asleep I missed it, 657am the next 714 am the one I answered. I explained that as I said in the message I was ill, he replied take a couple of advil it will only take 1.5hrs. I then explained that i had been violently ill and not feeling a case of the sniffles but more unable to keep a glass of water down, I asked to please rebook for the next day or the day after. HIs response was shocking........ "ii you don't get here now I don't have a opening for at least a month"! Remember I had one week earlier walked in off the street and was served twice that day (2nd x when I proved id) and had a tooth extracted AT WHICH TIME HE PUT NON DISSOLVING SUTURES IN MY GUMS DUE TO BE REMOVED AT THIS VISIT. Now u want me to wait a month to have them removed???????????? I was upset and sick so I told him what I thought of his greedy condescending money grabbing ways and hung up! He followed up with 11 calls in a row! when I finally answered it was his assistant asking me what time worked for me to get the canal 28 days later with no mention of the removal of sutures. When I expressed my concern that the sutures were growing over her response was to pull them myself or go to er. 30 sec later she tried to book me for the root canal in 3 days from then. WHAAT?????????? in 3 days I asked to which she replied or the day after that at this time or the following monday at this time....... now there are 4 apt this week I can chose from? how did that happen in the same breath as "you could go the er if 28 days is to long". I( will never go near this pretentious egomaniacal entrepreneur (oops I mean Dr.) as long as I live! ps the sutures became infected

As a lower income patient, I felt like I was given first class treatment with a fair price. My children love going there. Any emergency has been taken care of swiftly including my daughter's broken tooth(repaired within an hour without an appointment). I personally have witnessed poor behavior by patients handled in a professional manner. Bring an item for the food bank and get $10 off!!. A great experience for me!!
