I agree with both. I too have had various dentist over the years and none have been up to much. My first dentist I had when I was a little girl worked on the shore road and I could never find where he had gone to and recently found out he moved to Abbey Dental Care from family, when I rang I thought I would not have a hope in hell that he'd still be there but hey ho... he is. I think it all depends on which dentist you get there, I was very adament on which dentist I wanted and had no problem getting him and thats only because I knew who I was looking for. My dentist is nice, friendly (thank god) and very thorough and more so, which is what you want your dentist to be thats all you can ask for and deserve. I think I shall cry when he retires. And yes there are Male dentists there, and females.

A terrible experience that still haunts me. My family and I had to change our dentist after 20 or so years at the same one since childhood. We searched for a local one that would accept NHS clients, as this one did. In order to register we all went for an appointment at the same time. We arrived on the arranged date and just after we parked we noticed a youngish man in a sports car park in the disabled space of the car park and make his way up the steps to the surgery. As it turned out, this was to be our dentist. When we went in we were treated very poorly. This one dentist was to tend to us all simultaneously, and as we waited to go in he referred to us as "them" to the nurses, which was very rude. As we sat in the chairs he displayed little interest in us personally, was quite rough and inflicted pain on us, and even told my sister to stop complaining about the pain he was causing as she lay. I was told that I needed three fillings, which, as I learned later, was nonsense. I don't recall the dentist's name, at the time he was in his early to mid thirties, but his behaviour and lack of decent manners was a disgrace to the profession. A disgusting man. We now attend Monkstown Dental Practice, which offers exemplary service and care.
