CAVEAT EMPTOR. BUYER BEWARE. I made an appointment for a regular eye checkup and to get a prescription for contact lenses. After my eye examination, Doctor Collins brought a TV into the examination room and played this strange video advertisement on some eye-molding contact lenses, which costs over $1,500. I kindly informed the staff I was not interested, and they gave me my prescription. The staff tried to encourage me to order my contact lenses from their office, but their prices were 5 to 10 times as much as what I normally would pay, even in California or the East Coast. When I went to the eye glass shop on the Air Force Base, they informed me that the prescription I had could ONLY be filled at Dr. Collins' clinic. I asked Dr. Collins' office about the situation, and Dr. Collins himself gave me this speech on how it is against FEDERAL LAW for him to write a prescription that can be used outside his clinic. When I asked him to clarify what he meant, he became agitated and hanged the phone on me. Ultimately I went to see Dr. Ergle, who was great and I got my prescription filled. I do not recommend Dr. Joe Collins at all. If Dr. Collins gives you his FEDERAL LAW speech, just ignore it and be sure to mention Misrepresentation, Fraud, and Breach of Contract, then report him to the better business bureau.

I have an astigmatism and I went in to have my yearly eye exam and to get more contacts. I wear contacts on a daily basis and wear my glasses at night. The doctor was very kind and seemed very knowledgeable. The ladies at the front were very sweet and friendly. HOWEVER... I go to pay for the contacts thinking that it was going to be like every other eye doctor I have been to (paying 150 - 175 dollars for two boxes of contacts that last me about a year) the contacts were 310 dollars and that contact was my only option. They will not give a prescription until they fit you in the only contact they offer. I tried to see if they would just write me one, but they said it was against the law to write a prescription without fitting me in the contact. VERY FRUSTRATING. So if you fall into the same category as I do as far as eye issues, understand this before scheduling an appointment.
