My mom went to get dentures over 1.5 years ago. The dentist recommended that she have all her teeth pull out and putting full dentures. After all the pain and suffering for 1.5 years the ordeal is still not over. Either there was pain, or most recently when my mom talks, the top dentures fall off! When she drinks water, both upper and lower lifts off the gum...this isn't right. There is still continual adjustments that was required, and now we have just one more before the dentist gives up and refers us out to a specialist and he recommends implants. I guess the dentist limit is 2 sets before he doesn't want to do anything. Being a senior and barely receiving any social security, 6K+cash was spent on dentures...that's alot of money, now he's recommending 4 implants. That's about another 10K without the dentures that will be attached to the dentures. I would recommend going somewhere else before doing any major work here. Even though the dentist replies that everyone is different, and the fit varies, since I told him my dad's denture has a perfect fit, and it's 20 years old and has never had this horrific experience. Isn't part of the job getting a good fit for each individual? Has anyone else experienced spending over 1.5 years on getting dentures? The staff is really nice, but I'm really upset for my mom. I think maybe he should change the company where he orders his dentures from, I have no idea.. I really hope no one else has to go thru this.
