JERE A. SCOLA III, D.P.M.
Reviews
Dr. Scola cut my ingrown toenail out without making sure my toe was numb first, then blamed me for being "the 1%" of people who take more than normal medicine to numb. He has zero bedside manner. He rushed me and treated me horribly. He never apologized for hurting me. I screamed in pain. He argued with a creditor on the phone in front of everyone in the lobby, talking to the person on the phone very rudely. My first appointment was made with him personally on the phone but he scheduled me for a time they aren't even in the office. So I took off school early, I am a student at UF, only to arrive to a locked up building. He never apologized for that either. Then to top it all off, I got a fungus from his procedure and now my toenail is peeling off and looks disgusting. I had to see my primary doctor to write a prescription for an anti-fungal ointment because I will never go back to Dr. Scola. I am filing a formal complaint and I encourage others to do the same because he should not be allowed to practice medicine in his state of mind.
Not a scammer, exactly, but he definitely milked my broken toe for as many overcharged sessions as he could. During the actual service (removing my toenail to relieve swelling, x-rays of the broken toe) Scola was efficient and pleasant, but it got much worse from there. He wrote me a prescription for a GIANT walking boot that was unnecessary for my single broken toe and had me pay for it on the spot, $150. Later I found the same thing for $36 on Amazon, but who's going to say "wait lemme google it" while the doctor is writing your prescription? I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotic he prescribed, no one ever called me back. Then he had me come back every two weeks for $60 x-rays, refused to give me copies of the images, was consistently late for my early morning appointments, and when after two sessions I caught on and called in to cancel my next appointment the receptionist said "OK" and hung up. No concern for whether I still needed service. I think he gets a lot of business from being so well advertised and can afford to be a borderline scammer. Service is okay but definitely not worth the price.
DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!! I had an 9 am appointment as a new patient. I arrived early as told to paper work. 30 minutes later the receptionist arrives. She did not greet me or the other patients. I simply said " I was getting worried I was in the wrong place" she replied its only a little past 9am and rolled her eyes. I let many of the rude remarks she made go. Then I was explaining some paper work I need and she blew me off and said when the doctor gets here tell him. I then asked how long before the doctor was to come she. She then made another rude comment. The other patients were so appauled they walked out refusing service. I asked to wait to speak with the doctor. He shows up yelling that it was my fault all the patients left. I have never been treated with such poor customer service. I plan to get this young ladies name to post. She should not work for any other doctor. She has blonde hair and the WORST attitude ever
