I have been going to FOI for over 3 yrs. Even though the wait times aren't always ideal, I always feel like I am the most important patient when I am seen. Dr. Billys and Dr. Jackson are both amazing as well as their staffs. I have a hard time believing that surgery is the first thing always recommended for others. I was recommended to go through medicine therapy, PT and injections before surgery would even be considered. I would recommend FOI to anyone and everyone!!!!
I called today to get a cd of xrays my husband had made there recently. First they told me they need 2 weeks notice...to burn a cd. I worked at a hospital--they do theirs same day, which is standard. When I said that to the guy, he gave me the real reason...they ran out of cd's. I asked if they couldn't borrow some from one of their other offices. He said that wasn't in his job description.... The doctor my husband saw for his knee pain immediately said, you need a knee replacement, sooner the better. What??!! And offered him no treatment or meds for his pain. This is a crock of ****. We won't be back, that's for sure.
THE DOCTORS ARE WONDERFUL.I've gotten excellent treatment. The appointment wait time and the call backs are horrible. Someone needs to revamp office procedures. Other Florida Orthopedic Institute offices seem to more patient friendly.
I had a follow up appointment Wed. Aug. 6th at the Telecom Parkway location with Dr. Walling at 11:15 am. I arrived at 11:10 and signed in and was told to be seated. I never filled out any paperwork. . nothing. I proceeded to wait until 11:40 when I went to the desk and questioned the fact that they've never given me any paperwork. The receptionist asked if I had signed, and I showed her my name on the sign up sheet. I asked if the doctor was running behind on his appointment and was told No. Someone had put a highlighter pen across the name and they assumed I was taken care of. She then questioned me, who my appointment was with, etc. I then received the paperwork to sign, it is now 12 noon. She said they will call me as soon as they had a room. I waited and waited and waited and at 12:45 when the sitting room was empty I went back up to the desk and told these incompetent attendants at the desk that no matter how much my ankle hurt, I was not waiting any longer one hour and a half was unacceptable as it is. I left and before I could get home, the attendant had called me but no one was there to answer, obviously not, I had just left. Needless to say I am totally disgusted with their methods and procedures, without regard for the patient.
Be prepare for this office to NEVER take your calls. First appointment was 8 weeks ago with surgery scheduled in two weeks. Not once in 8 weeks have they picked up the phone. Call backs are always 2 days. Craig Brown Wesley Chapel
