Memorial Hospital

I use to like Memorial Hospital but lately, I do not know what is going on with them but their wait time in the ER dept is outrageous. It is downright shameful at how long you have to sit and wait to be seen. And it is ridiculous how rude this one blonde in particular is doing the registration. I am surely surprised that she is still there. I truly wish they would improve their wait time and restaff the ER dept. in registration. Rude Nurses!
I was here with what I thought was a kidney stone. It turned out it was a kidney stone that had blocked my kidney & I almost lost my kidney. The doctors tried their best to keep met from screaming & crying, but I was in so much pain. They admitted me & took me to emergency surgery at 1:00 am. They had to place a stent, which are a nightmare within themselves. To the e.r. Doctor, all three nurses I had & the team on the second floor. I appriciate all you did for me & sorry I was such a pain in the ass , I just hate the hospital. This is my second summer that's gonna be spent in St.Louis. And I've been to memorial twice already within a wk. I had a stone passing in my right side then one on my left side. I got admitted came home&have t retry order to pass them both. The doctors are always great half of them know me&the nurses... well you couldn't ask for better. Expecially when u are hurting. I'm going back tonight to get admitted again&have surgery hopefully tomorrow. They also have a great urologist. He is pretty funny. Still the best hospital here. Even the security gaurds are nice..
They are really profesional and they seem to really care about your illness or pain or anything that is wrong. I would highly recomend this hospital and all the staff I have met so far!
Peds is fantastic ....great care...transport not so much....long wait times!
My son who is 4 had been running a fever for a couple of days. I have given tylenol and motrin and the fever would come back before it was time to give it again. The ED was very busy and I seen 3 ambulances carrying people in as I was entering the building. I just new it was going to take forever for my child to be seen but it didn't. I checked in, waited 20 minutes, and then was called back to the triage nurse. While being triaged by the nurse a doctor was also in there. He asked me some questions and done a quick exam on my son and a strep test. We then were sent back into the waiting area. 25 mins later we were called back to a smaller area where a nurse examined by son and asked me more questions. The nurse got on one knee to talk to my child. My son LOVED him. The nurse showed my son attention in a compassionate way. He forgot all about the hospital setting and though he was sick he was happy. The nurse gave him high five's for letting him look in the back of his throat. 20 minutes later the nurse return with discharge instructions and a prescription. Most people think an hour is a long time especially when your sick but when the average wait time in the ED is over 4 hours just to be seen by a doctor I will not fuss about an 1 hour and 5 minute total visit time. A bonus was how they treated my child. Taking the time to make him feel special and hear how he felt, instead of how mom thinks he is, was awesome. Thank you Memorial ED staff.
