Worst dentist ever. Seemed very impatient with me and my questions. Not gentle at all. I had a filling fall out with an exposed nerve. I made this very clear when calling and made a same day apt to fix it. I even had to leave work early. When I got there, all he did was look at it and tell me I needed to come back. I asked that he fix it right then as that is why I came. He seemed put out by this. Even more so when I asked to be numbed. EXPOSED NERVE!!!! He jammed the needle in so quick and hard, I felt a shock shoot down the side of me tongue. I actually cried. His answer to this was to drug me for any further work. He actually asked me if I had bad experiences in "the chair" before. Before? Try right now. I'm a grown adult and I'm crying. He also kept mentioning the previous work that I've had done. Yes. I get it. I was there. I have some porcelain crowns. But, he continued to bring it up and it made me uncomfortable. It really was so constant it came off as some sort of disapproval. I don't want to go to a dentist that constantly talks about getting work done as if it's a bad thing. Now some petty stuff (it plays in to who he is): He told me all about the lady in the waiting room. She had 3 teeth pulled and needed more work. So much for HIPAA compliance. I was horrified as I like my privacy. Couldn't be more unprofessional in my opinion. He has propaganda in his office about porcelain crowns, but told me he doesn't use porcelain. What is that? False advertising? I want to see the products/procedures that are available. Don't just put something on the wall to fill space. It's misleading. I wouldn't recommend this dentist to my worst enemy. Not even Kim Jong-un.
The people there are very friendly. They really take care of their customers. I first went to Dr Laville back in 2008 using Tricare (a military dental plan that didn't even advertise this office as accepting Tricare). They welcomed me with open arms and had absolutely no problems with any type of service. I ended up having to get fillings after my first visit (which I knew I would need). Both the dentist and the nurse was very knowledgeable and did an outstanding job at letting me know what was going on, why, and how it can be fixed. The operation itself was a little discomforting, as is with most dental work, but they were concerned about how I felt during the entire process. As far as service goes, Dr. Laville exceeded my expectations. I'm not too sure, but think they offer family specials (but don't quote me on that). The bottom line is that this is a good establishment if you're looking for a new dentist.
