Singer Custom Vision: Singer Jeffrey H MD
Reviews
Having had PRK about 6 months ago, I haven't had the best vision yet however on my most recent visit I was relieved when I was looking through through the different lenses and they matched me with perfect vision letting me know that the vision was there and that I just needed more time to heal. I was told that since I work at my computer alot that it may slow the healing some. Great work from this group and plenty of followup appointments have made this surgery successful.
I highly rely on my vision to earn a living. When I came to Dr. Singer, I was on the brink of being unable to work due to very poor vision. After seeing many eye doctors through out the years, I can say with great confidence that Dr. Singer is THE BEST OPHTHALMOLOGIST I have ever had!! I wish I seen Dr. Singer years ago!!
After reviewing the information for Lasik, I scheduled an appointment. So far, the receptionist has been the only person who has given me enough information to make an informed decision. When I arrived I filled out paperwork and waited for the nurse to take me to be evaluated. After being called to the back, I was subjected to three different machines, none of which were explained to me. I had to ask what each one did and how it would affect my evaluation. Most of the work was performed by the nurse/technician. The physician I saw walked in, introduced herself, and said, "You're not a candidate for Lasik, but would you like to do the full exam for PRK?" I didn't know what PRK was and voiced my concern of not having enough information to make that decision. However, because I didn't want to waste another day off from work, I went ahead with the pupil dilation. She then left and another technician came in. 5 different types of drops were put into my eyes and only 1, the numbing one, was explained. I was also not told before dilation that the effects could last up to 72 hours. After I paid for my dilation (at this point I couldn't even see to sign the slip), I was ushered to the waiting room and not told anything. I had to ask if I was finished with the exam or there was more to come. When the final exam was over, I was asked if I wanted to schedule a PRK procedure, and again I voiced that I did not have enough information to make that decision and asked if the nurse could go over the details with me. As she was writing prescriptions for a service I had not yet requested, she asked, "Do you want the PRK or not?" She still hadn't discussed the details with me and I felt extremely pressured into a procedure that I had little to no information about. When I told her this again, she told me, "Well, go home, look it up on the internet and call back when you make a decision." I was handed a sheet of paper with two quotes on it and neither of them was explained. I had to ask why they were roughly $1100 in difference. I would not recommend this place to anyone based on the fact that I felt like a huge dollar sign on a conveyor belt instead of a person whose vision and trust was placed in their hands.
Can't say enough negative things about this place. Horrible bedside manner, rude staff and not to mention my procedure did NOT work. I still have to wear glasses - and to tell you the truth, I wouldn't go back to get my "touch up" done if they paid me.
Dr. Singer changed my life!! I was so tired of glasses & contacts, decided to give Lasik a try & now my vision is great! I can see again! He and his staff are very professional & courteous! I highly recommend Dr. Singer!!!
