My consultation went fine, my surgery was fine (well the procedure is horrifying but that's how LASIK goes), but oh my gosh the post-op care has been truly awful. I went to my next-day follow-up as required, but the day before my next follow-up, I was called by the corporate office/call center and they told me the doctor was sick with the stomach flu. uh huh. the day before thanksgiving, oh and the whole office is going to be closed for this reason? ok then. sheesh if you are going to close the office, at least be truthful about it. Well anyway I was going out of town so I asked how could I get seen and they told me that the office manager of my location (Towson) would call me back to work it out. She never called me. So the next day they're closed, then its Thanksgiving, then I kept trying to call on that Friday but nope they are still closed (they did NOT tell me they would be closed for half the week when I got the surgery!). I had some concerns and I at least wanted to speak with a doctor on the phone if I could not be seen. But I couldn't get a hold of anyone there. Finally a week later I got back into town and I called the office to get squared away with a follow up. No answer so I left a message and indicated that I needed to be called back to make an appointment for my follow-up. NOBODY CALLED ME BACK. I was starting to think the whole place went out of business. Finally, a few days after that I remembered that I had the Business Email of one of the doctors so I used that and voila I got a response. When I told her about my ordeal she said "sorry" but didn't offer an explanation about the sub-standard post-op care I received to that point. She said she would forward the email with my concerns to the office manager (who I called "unprofessional" in my email for not calling me back- I'm sure *that* will be well-received). I secured a follow up appointment for the next day and when I was there I swear the office staff did not say a single word to me. I saw the doctor for a quick check up and left. Sheesh! Why did that have to be so darn difficult?
