I've been to a few dentists over the years as a military brat and a military wife. I have never been so impressed with a dental office, from the front desk to the dental hygienists to the lead doctor. Heather and Ruby are friendly and professional and SO on top of the workings of the office. Shannon and Stacey, as the hygienist and technician respectively, not only obviously know what their jobs require and entail, but they love every step. Both are very thorough in everything they do, they take pride in their work, and they are exceptionally knowledgeable in every aspect. Dr. Fugate makes you feel welcome, individual and informed when you meet with her, and for my own comfort and preference at the dentist, she makes each procedure feel important, but something she is highly skilled in completing. She speaks to you like a person and explains things well, never turning away an opportunity to say hello or answer a question. Every person in the office I have encountered has made me feel better about going to the dentist and I have never felt imposing or silly when I call to ask questions or have concerns. They look out for their patients' needs, limitations and expectations and when I move in a few months, I will greatly miss such an impressive dental practice. I HIGHLY recommend Surf City Dental for any area resident, particularly military - they are flexible with our needs and schedules, and they gladly take TriCare!
