My family and I were heading out of town on vacation. That morning, my eye was hurting so bad that I had a hard time keeping it open. It felt like I had something in it, but I couldn't see anything. I stopped by their clinic as an emergency. Alex Benner, O.D. examined my eye and to my surprise found that I had damaged my eye. There wasn't anything in it. He put an eye patch on my eye so I could continue on with my vacation and the 22 hour drive we were about to do. The eye patch was like wearing a clear contact lens and the drops dulled the pain. Long story short, we made it to our destination, had a wonderful vacation, and ended up seeing another eye doctor out there. The 2 of them worked together and determined that I had damaged my eye from having creosote land in it on one of my inspections a week or so prior. The creosote was toxic and caused my eye to become pitted. Together they were able to treat my eye properly. Upon returning, he kept treating my eye, and after about a month of blurry vision as the eye healed, I'm happy to say my eye is back to normal!
