Store is great looking, new and seemingly clean to the public but what you don't know is that the food prep areas are atrocious! The kitchens are cramped and filthy, and proper sanitation practices are not adhered to or enforced. Workers go against the health code on a daily basis. Eating and drinking in the department and I have witnessed employees from the Fresh food departments using the bathroom facility with their kitchen aprons still on!! When brought to their attention, some have actually argued that they don't need to remove the aprons to go use the bathroom! Many of those employees don't even bother to wash up once they return from their smoke breaks to work with food. The floors are rarely cleaned and the workers drop food and trash on the floors and just walk all over it. The walk in refrigerators have food on the floors and walls, even moldy cheese that never gets cleaned up. The storage area for all the food containers and packaging is cluttered, overstuffed and a total safety hazard. These containers are stuffed onto the shelves in a disorderly haphazard way. When when someone squeezes into that area to get something, they almost always end up knocking food packing onto the floor. These items are then picked up and returned to the shelf, waiting for your food! I have taken items off those shelves with footprints on them! The dish room is shared by three Departments: RAW MEAT department where they leave meat grinding attachments, lean over into the sinks with bloody meat smocks on, and use the faucets and sprayers with dirty bloody hands. Then the deli and bakery workers come in and use those same sinks to wash utensils and bowls. They have to lean right onto that same filthy sink and touch those faucet handles. Totally unsanitary! Not really sure how it was they passed the state inspections. They have failed in house sanitation inspections more than once. Just sayin', and yes I worked there. That is only the tip of it all, there are some people who probably should not be working with food at all but yet they are...

Hannaford is the best!! Great prices, Organic products and no silly cards to carry!!

Well, I wasn't expecting much upon hearing that just another supermarket was coming to town. For the times I have repeatedly requested items in brands that they DO carry, it has been ignored! As markets go, the shelves are 98% of the same old factory junk "foods" and maybe 2% real food. Give me a break on the tiny "organic" sections in the aisles, as the whole aisle should be the REAL food with those small sections labeled "junk"!! The fact that they have to stock items according to a planogram instead of by customer demand speaks volumes. When I am told that only one single slot is allotted to the REAL Half and Half by Organic Valley and that it is all I can expect, then I know that they are not there to serve the customer! It's interesting that that one slot given to the good product is oftentimes empty because it SELLS! So the logical thing would be to get rid of the multiple slots given to all the duplicated garbage brands with all the plastic and chemical ingredients because they all sit there. Wake up Hannaford....the trend is FAST moving to REAL food, not ersatz crap! You better make room for it and get rid of most of the overpriced garbage because until then, I'll continue to shop where they sell REAL foods along with all those who are now clamoring for it!

Surprisingly good. Can catch some great sales on certain days, at certain times. Much better than the Slater Great American it replaced. Small, but not too small. The only problem is once you like something, it disappears, never to make a reappearance.
