I will qualify my remarks with usually it is "ok". However, whoever is in charge of staffing needs some managerial training. I ordered on line and went to pick it up...and yes the email noted longer lines for layaway pick up until dec 16th. This was dec 18th....and the line, no kidding snaked right across the store. Online pickups and photos.... only 2 people at the desk, one in training. Eventually customers after waiting in line over 1/2 hour to pick up photos insisted on seeing the manager. All of the sudden there were 6 people moving the line along. Up front this Walmart boasted every checkout line is open and they were. Great, these lines moved right along. Well, after Christmas not every checkout was open and not even the express lanes when I was there 5 days later. Long long lines and wait time to check out. Adequate staffing is my main complaint.
The only reason I am giving a second star is because the fellow who assisted me did help me the best to his ability. However; it is Walmart's policy that I am very disappointed in. I ordered a box fan that I purchased online. When I went to the store to pick it up there was no record of the item being on the store, after about 5 minutes of trying to figure out why my item wasn't in the computer the customer service rep noticed that there was a pick up date that was scheduled for two weeks. Why would I wait two weeks for a box fan, when there were some of the very one I ordered on a pallet in the store. The purpose of me ordering online was for it to be made available for me to pick it up that day without worry that the item would not be in stock. I expressed that I am not going to wait two weeks for a box fan I would like to be refunded and I will purchase one from the store. When I went up to customer service I was refused the return. Here I am now trying to contact a 1800 number. I am very disappointed with the service I received. I had a similar purchase from Target where the item was made available for me in a matter of four hours.
This morning I spent over $200.00 and paid cash. The older, red-headed female clerk was very upset that she couldn't go on break immediately. When I got in line, her light was on. However, she accused me of getting in line after she turned her light off. I even asked the customer in front of me if her light was on when I got in line, and she agreed with me that it was. The clerk was very surly and told me to put my bags in my cart. Not a question, but a command. How rude. Next time, I will spend my money elsewhere.
Walmart policy is to go by state law call 1800walmart and ask. Here in hamburg they make up there own policy
This is a very large WalMart. My kids love the multiple game demo stalls. They have a wide variety of items. Their lane arrangement is different than I am used to, and I have moved around a lot so I have a good feel for the "usual" WalMart arrangement. Usually I don't have a problem getting checked out, but last Friday night they only had a few lanes open and not a single speedy checkout lane or self service lane. It took over 15 minutes to buy one bottle of soda.
