Beavercreek Dermatology LLC: Balazs Kathryn V DO
Reviews
I was able to get an appointment right away (with the assistant Dr.). They were real friendly. I didn't wait long either. When the assistant saw my condition, she pulled in Dr. Balazs to help with no prior notice. Dr. Balazs was kind and brought in 2 more interns to help and we all discussed what the issue could be. She was very open to listen and take my comments into consideration and even made decisions that were based on my 2 cents and concerns (as well as taking in the 2 cents of all the other doctors there). She acknowledged her limitations as a dermatologist and was helpful in considering where to go if it the cause of the problem was out of their capacity. Turns out that she ordered tests that ended up revealing a potentially very serious underlying systemic condition. It was a God send. Had she not taken such careful consideration of the issue, even taking time out of her busy schedule to do so, I might have ended up in big trouble down the road not knowing what was going on. I will always be thankful for her care and highly recommend her office.
My daughter was seen as a 3 year old at this practice. When we arrived, the battle-ax of a receptionist told me that we did not have a referral in place yet. She told me that I could call our pediatrician to get one right then, or we could leave. I schlepped my one year old and three year old out into the building's antiquated lobby, called the ped, and got a referral. I took the kids back in to the office and waited and waited and waited...30 minutes, 45 minutes, an hour. Finally, I approached said battle-ax again. She said that they were waiting for the referral to come through electronically before they put us in the rotation to be seen! No one had told me that, and I certainly would not have waited with my two small children. I said that I gladly would have paid out of pocket for the visit, and gotten reimbursed from the insurance company. They managed to get us in pretty quickly after that. Dr. Balazs was adequate, but I wasn't that impressed with her treatment, bedside manner, or follow-through. Needless to say, we have moved on from this practice.
