Chiropractors terrify me, having had several bad experiences with them and having trust issues with my body from abusive situations in my past. I had seen another chiropractor who practiced Gonstead chiropractic and he adjusted my neck without "the twist", by having me lay face-down, turning my head sideways and quickly, lightly pressing down. It was so much less anxiety producing. It also felt less like a sledgehammer solution, very specific. The Gonstead website directed me to this clinic where I first saw another chiropractor, Rene St Cyr, who was also very kind and gentle, but my schedule fits better with Jacob's. What I like about Jacob besides his very gentle adjustments, is his thoroughness. Since by the time I make myself go in, I'm a mess, and instead of just adjusting what I say hurts most, he checks everything else out, too, so he doesn't miss anything. If it's so tight it won't adjust, he'll give it some quick massage to loosen it up instead of just sending me home half-adjusted. Location is convenient, right off freeway, and if you get stuck there around rush hour and want to wait it out like me, there are tons of happy hours nearby, a Whole Foods, and a library, among other things. :)
