My wife and I moved from Charleston, SC to the West Columbia area about a year ago. I had received some, to say the least, sub-par dental work from a local dentist in Charleston. Subsequently I was on business travel when a crown broke and I needed to locate a Dentist in the Columbia area to help. On a recommendation from a fellow Medical student of my wife's I decided to visit Chrysostom Family Dentistry. From the first phone call to the initial visit and many subsequent visits this has been, by far, the best dental care experience I have ever encountered. The nurses, techs, and front desk staff are phenomenal, funny and helpful. I was lucky enough to have Dr. Mallory Northcutt as my primary Dentist. She is highly talented at her craft and is dedicated to patient care. Not to mention her bedside manner is comforting especially when something as unpleasant as having your teeth drilled is concerned. Not only is the quality of Dr. Northcutt's work exceptionable the follow-up and unanticipated personal attention has made a dedicated and loyal patient out of both myself and my wife. Thank you so much for all you have done, and here is to a lifetime of health smiles due to your excellence!
My husbands 1st visit he received an evaluation telling us about $4,000 worth of work was needed for 9 cavities. He went for a 2nd opinion elsewhere and received an evaluation of 2 cavities and $375. Not only are they a scam, they are an extremely expensive one! Don't be fooled by the pretty little bag filled with lip balm, coffee mug, etc. on your 1st visit, there is a reason they can afford such things!
My wife went in for a free exam. They insisted on a root canal right away. They opened a CreditCare account so we could pay for it. My wives pain increased after surgery. She tried to call over the weekend for guidance. Never heard from the dentist. We went back on Monday and had to wait for a couple of hours. Our dentist never saw us. Another Dentist met with us. He referred us out. We had to pay for another exam and found that there was equipment that had sheared off in her tooth and an infection had grown. She may now have to have surgery again through the gums to remove the fragmented tools from her tooth. She may loose her new job and our bill will be in the $1000's.
Everyone at this office is friendly. I'm not a big fan of going to dentist in fact I'm sure I cried at my first two visits. They made me feel comfortable .
