I moved from out of state to South Dakota. My first prescription to pick up had an incorrect dosage on it. My chosen doctor was not working at the 41st Street clinic that day, but since I had old records from my previous state in hand that I just picked up after they copied them I thought it would be no big deal to had another correct the error. WRONG. Not one doctor would look at my doctor records or correct the error. They expected me to come back and see the first doctor once again or fill this prescription and take take two pills rather than one. The problem with that is it is a compound medication with two drugs and I would be taking double the dose of the one drug to get the correct dosage of what was incorrect. When I asked if any doctor there that day had common sense, I was "banned from all Avera clinics" and asked to "leave by the back door". I did NOT leave by the back door and walk around the building. I am 61 years old with a herniated disk in my spine. Apparently, Avera Corp. does not hire people with common sense. I faxed my concerns to the Avera head office which has been ignored despite the fact that banning a person from using their facilities is against federal law according to the Haller-Burton Act regarding medical institutions that accept federal money, which Avera does.
