I've taken my Daughter and now my Grand Children to Dr. Gibson's office and have never had a problem. I have one gchild just getting done with her braces... another gchild just starting. Each and every time I've brought one of them in for either scheduled appointments or emergencies, they have always been attended to in a very prompt manner. Coming from a grouchy old man, there should be more stars!!!

Worse Ortho in Morristown. 1. once you get established with him and go for your monthly visits to get something simple as changing your wires and he has new potential clients there. Be prepared to have to wait twice as long as it would normally take cause he is to busy kissing butt for new clients. 2. If you have sensitivity to coldness you are screwed when you get your braces removed. The assistant was very sweet and took extra time using the machine on low to ease the pain. What does Dr. Gibson do? Even after you and the nurse say how sensitive your teeth are he will still put the machine on blast (to get done quicker) Then he will suggest you hold onto the arm of the chair to keep from squirming. His staff are all super sweet but i would not give him a dime of your money. I have never been scared of doctors or dentist but every sense i left his office in tears due to the pain i am terrified to go to the dentist. Be forewarned.

I had a very pleasant experience at Dr. Gibson Jr.'s office. Peggy did talk to me about the different kinds of braces and what I might would have been interested in, considering I started treatment as an adult in my early 20's. The clear ones looked nice, but I was not bothered on who was going to see me in braces. So with that said, I opted to go the tried and true way and got the full on metal mouth "bling". As the previous reviewer said, they do start charging a fee for every broken bracket... after 5 broken brackets that is. I am not sure what system they had used on the previous reviewer, but I believe I got the Damon system. Which worked great for me. Yes, I did break 2 or 3 brackets but I never got a lecture on breaking them. The first one I broke I don't believe the glue set right when they put them on because I knocked that one off by just the tip of my toothbrush hitting against it. However, the second one took a hard hit from my toddler daughter accidentally hitting me in the mouth with her head. Other than those 2 or 3 mishaps, I never had any problems out of my braces... other than they were annoying! Actually, I was scheduled to have my braces taken off sometime next month (March 2013), but I was lucky enough to have mine taken off right before Thanksgiving 2012. As for the staff, I thought they were great. I loved that Holly at the desk just took one look at me and knew who I was and always told me I could have a seat in one of the blue chairs in the back. All of the girls who worked on my braces were great, so I have no complaints there either. Dr. Gibson Jr., if you've been a patient and haven't noticed, is a perfectionist. It's not hard to pick up on it if you pay attention to him and his staff. He isn't there just to slap braces on you, set a timer, and then take them off when the timer sounds. He actually wants you happy with your new smile and if he feels they aren't ready to come off, he won't take them off (like he told me I would have mine off by summer of 2012 =P ). I can understand how he would appear rude to some people who aren't used to a perfectionist's way of thinking. I would rate his service A+. My teeth were all kinds of wonky due to genetics and Dr. Gibson Jr. was the only orthodontist to mention permanent retainers that are attached to the back of my upper front teeth and my lower bottom teeth. In fact, no other orthodontist seemed to want to take on my genetically wonky teeth. I also have a third retainer that I'm not even sure how long I'm supposed to wear it for, but I wear it to bed or while lounging around the house watching TV or on the computer. And since my permanent retainers are... well... permanent, if they ever detach themselves all I have to do is call the office and Dr. Gibson Jr. (or his replacement he said) will take care of it for me. All in all, I am very pleased with my treatment. I am a desk clerk and smiling is apart of the job, and I tend to smile a lot now that my braces are off. The best part about it- I never once got a compliment on how nice my smile was until after my treatment, and now I get compliments on how lovely my smile is almost daily! Now I just smile and thank them and say that I had a very good orthodontist. =) And if you think I work for Dr. Gibson Jr. and this is a false review, I have nothing to hide, you are more than welcome to ask Dr. Gibson Jr. if you may see a before and after photo! Just tell him Elizabeth K. M. birthdate 9/22/87 sent you, I'm sure he will know who I am. I would disclose my full name, but it is the internet and you never know who is on google these days! P.S. :Just keep in mind that orthodontists can put braces on you but it is your responsibility to give your fair share and follow the instructions given to you; braces 50% your effort 50% =100% and a speedy treatment process with great ending results.

Stay away from this guy. I believe that he used to have a good reputation, but we had a terrible experience with him and his office. They used an 'experimental' type of brace/device on my daughter that they advocated as the latest and greatest. Unfortunately, this type of device broke/failed often, and usually for no particularly good reason. For example, one time my daughter was eating a soft hamburger bun and the appliance broke! She did not abuse the appliance; yet the office staff and Dr. Gibson acted as if she was doing so. At one point we even received a letter from them, saying that they were going to start charging $25/each time. They always acted as if we were at fault. Honestly, we were really careful and did not appreciate their attitude. Here's the kicker: Towards the end of her treatment time, the office staff told us that they were no longer using the type of appliance that she had. When we asked why, they said that there were a lot of problems with breakage and the device wasn't very good. The staff was also unprofessional in some ways. Finally, Dr. Gibson worked so few days that it was virtually impossible to get an appointment with him. Overall, I was very unhappy with the service received by Dr. Gibson and this office. I am not a complainer, but it was stressful to deal with this orthodontist. My younger daughter will most likely need braces. I am willing to drive an hour away to get better, more professional, and less 'critical' health care.
