My experience started with my being the patient from hell because I had to cancel and reschedule several appointments, and I completely forgot one and missed it. The people at Aspen Dental were quite pleasant through all this. The not so good stuff started on the day of my appointment, the one I was actually going to be able to keep. I was scheduled for 3:45 and they had requested that I show up early to fill out paperwork, reasonable. I approached the door at 3:25. The door was locked and sign in the window said they were closed for training and would re open at 4:00. I called the office number (hey I don't always have my cell phone with me, but this was a lucky day) and the call was bounced to a call center in upstate NY. They said my appointment was 4:00, but I double checked my other phone and their robo call said 3:45. All they could do was send an e mail message to be ignored. While I waited several other people arrived and were just about as unhappy as I was. One wanted to pick up his records which had been pre arranged, another had a 4:00 appointment and I don't remember the other one's situation. All three others had various unhappy stories with Aspen Dental, but I can't speak for them. The doors didn't open until 4:05 during which time I had had an emergency call for my business and decided to blow off Aspen Dental once and for all. For what its worth, one of the other patients warned me that they were always very late in taking appointments, often as much as 45 minutes.

the office staff is rude and condescending. I said that I did not want a particular part of the exam, and the technician replied that we would just have to see how it goes. I stated "I said NO." to which she replied "I HEARD you." I told her she may have heard me, but apparently she did not take in the information, because I have the right to refuse, and any procedure performed without consent is assault. The office manager then came in and informed me that someone had been on the phone for 45 minutes with my insurance (I had been at the office around 20 minutes) and that the card I gave them was for health insurance (my insurance card actually covers health, dental and optical). I told her it was no big deal because my first visit was free and I was not likely to return based on how I was treated. She began to argue with me and berated me about how I had not been mistreated.

After moving to Florida, I did some research online to find a good dentist in the area. The reviews I saw on google were good (4.5 out of 5) so I decided on Aspen Dental. From my first experience there to my most recent experience this week, I'd recommend not wasting your time with this dentist office. At my first appointment I waited over an hour for my appointment. Then at another appointment I waited 30 minutes longer than my appointment time for a filling. The dentist did the filling and then told me that the decay was very close to the nerve and if the pain wasn't gone in 2 weeks, that I'd need a root canal. She should have been able to see from the x ray that I may need a root canal and let me know then. Now I've had a bad toothache for the past 2 days. I called at 9am on Wednesday and was told they would call me back when they heard from the dentist on what she wanted to do. They didn't call me all day Wed so I went into their office and Desmond told me that they would call me when they heard anything. No call Thursday or all day Friday so I called back Friday afternoon and the best they can do is get me in for their next available slot 2 weeks from now. At which time they will take an x ray, take my money for that and for seeing the dentist and refer me out for a root canal or extraction since they can't do it there (hence making me wait about a month before having this taken care of). Luckily my doctor was able to give me an antibiotic in case I have an infection and give me a stronger pain medicine than tylenol since I'm pregnant and cannot even take advil. However she only gave me enough meds to get through today since I thought I'd be able to get in for an appointment since I'm in so much pain. But no...so now i'm at a point where I don't want to be on pain meds but I am in an incredible amount of pain without them and still have to go through 2 weeks of this. Time to find another dentist. If you want to keep your teeth, money and time- I'd recommend another dentist and NOT Aspen Dental- at least not here on Cortez Rd in Bradenton, FL.

Made an appointment for Monday April 7 My husband confirmed the appt when they called and I showed up 25 minutes early for my 2:45 appt. to fill out paperwork and after filling it out was escorted to a managers office to tell me they had cancelled my appt. and would not be able to see me unless I waited several hours. I had already taken off of work and couldn't afford to wait several more hours. Rachel informed me the office manager was out and pretty much that I was out of luck because supposedly there was nothing she could do. I did call Patient Services and they were surprised. They said that it should not have happened this way at all. They helped me make an appointment with another office right away. Rachel of course had conveniently gone to lunch when we tried to resolve this with Patient Services. Would NOT RECCOMMEND this office. Everything was someone else fault and the end result was I lost out.

The office is staff is very friendly and sticks to their scheduels, they do professional work. Mandy the office manager has been very helpful assiting in the payment setup and financing of the dental work I needed done. I will return this Thursday for my bottom partial and hopefully everything goes as smoothly as with the top. I have already reffered a client to their office and will continue to do so in the future. Thanks. Dale Norman
