First I was double booked when i booked my appointment 2 weeks ahead. Then i had a problem with one of my eyes. and i was told i should make an emergency appointment. In order to do this I had to leave work early (whilst we are short staffed at work) and work through my lunch hour. My appointment was meant to be at 4.00 which they told me was their latest appointment. At 4.15 I asked f there was a delay and they said it would be a further 10 minutes. I was very disappointed as no-one told me there was a delay. A further 15 minutes later i was still yet to be seen. The actual opticians were great but the serving staff didn't seem to have a handle on what was going on. There were lots of unhappy people in the waiting area. The front "reception staff seemed to have very little to do, and their customer service and efficiency was severely lacking. When i asked if they were short staffed they said yes....and my gosh does it show. To boot their computer system took 10 minutes to load when i tried to buy some contact lenses. Also taking into account they are a surgery with patients their toilets were disgusting. Luckily this was an after-care appointment but if i had to pay i would refuse and go elsewhere. I left at 5 o'clock. so in essence it took a whole hour to accomplish what should take 15-20 mins. Absolutely ridiculous.
Loosing a contact lens in the sea 30 miles from home with no spare or glasses in the car was stressful. Prior to that I had always said I would think about laser eye surgery but never really been motivated to pick up the phone. A week later I was having the initial consultation and before I knew it my surgery was booked. Optical Express were beyond fantastic every step of the way - reassuring and caring in every way. 3 months after surgery and I cannot believe I didn't do it sooner. It has changed my life in ways I could never even have imagined and yes it might be a bit expensive but it is absolutely the best money I have ever spent in my life. My vision is better than I can ever remember it being and it might sound like a cliche but I now feel like I can properly start living my life to the full.
From being slightly nervous at time of surgery, by the time the procedure began I was completely relaxed and even joking with the team. Every member of staff put me at complete ease. The aftercare was very through and now after three months I am being released. My years of wearing contact lenses is completely forgotton. Thank you Optical Express.
The surgery was amazing , I was nervous but it was easy and I felt looked after . But they had offered me money if I recommended a friend , which I did , but I did not get the money . Anyone else had this experience ?
