Had a colonscopy yesterday yet again and I was dreading it but the Endoscopy Department were brilliant from the reception to the nurses to the most wonderful Gastroentereologist ever. I feel really grateful to all these people who made my short stay there so comfortable and I felt they really cared. Thank you very much. Hilary Roberts from Folkestone
Brought in with a suspected bleed on the brain on 2 occasions. they had 2 doctors for the whole hospital over night. I was brought in by ambulance and it took 9 hours before a doctor even saw me or assessed me on both occasions. THE NURSES ARE FANTASTIC THOUGH!!!! SO CARING AND PATIENT.
I have just finished treatment for prostate cancer at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. The treatment I received was perfection, this is the only way I can describe what was done for me. everybody in the oncology unit were lovely dedicated people. My treatment times were always on time or within only five minutes. After seven weeks of going to the hospital every day except Saturdays and Sundays I am now at a loss and If I was told I had another couple of weeks of treatment I would be happy as they are such lovely people I miss them. If you are about to enter Kent And Canterbury hospital Oncology rest assured you will get the best treatment by the best people.
A 71 year old bachelor friend was due to have a hip replacement. On pre op consultation with two senior nurses he informed them that he was diabetic. He was told to attend for the operation at 6.00 a.m. with surgery to start at 7.00 am. When he arrived at the hospital there was no note of his diabetes so the operation could not happen!! The arrangements he had set in place for post op care with friends and family have now been disrupted and no apology has been made by the hospital. Furthermore, social services had not been contacted by the hospital as to his after care. This matter is currently being taken up with the local MP and the press will also be contacted.
There is a horrible attending called Chritopher Pocock who is a cancer doctor. He is very nasty to his patients and terrible to junior doctors. He infact shouted at my aunt who went there for chemo therapy. all staff are aware of this guy's narcissistic behaviour. Unfortunately the RCP is going to grant him honorary fellow status which he does not deserve. He sees foreign patient's as dirt. stay away from this guy. Best department in this hospital is kidney department. People and nurses are nice and friendly in kidney department.
