waz canni everybody was vry nice 2 me
the ward I was on was 4 chest ward ,the staff were great days & nights cant say the same about all the patients I know some were really sick & did not know what they were doing ,I can say I got very little sleep, but you get to understand what the nurses have to put up with,
Excellent all round. Super Efficient but caring also - and I am a retired GP from another area.
had xray taken, doctor did not even look at the xray, instead walked off, came back after not even 5 minutes and just said it will be fine, just walk as normal, put your leg up when at home and write your name with your foot. (This is the biggest pile of ... I have heard in ages). He also said if not better then come back in 8 days. After 10 days of agonizing pain I decided to go visit sunderland general. They asked me if an xray was taken so I told them yes it was, at the Q&E in Gateshead, they phoned up Gateshead and were told that there was no xray on file for me even though I spent 5 long hours in that hospital. They had to retake an xray and diagnosed me with a second to third degree sprain in my left foot. I am glad to say that I will never even think about visiting this hospital again for anything and will certainly advise all my close friends and relatives to avoid doing so as well.
Have spent lots of time at this hospital. They saved my life on two occasions! First on 15th October 2010. Then once again in February 2011. I had a badly infected gallbladder and had two unsuccessful keyhole surgeries to try to remove it. The second one was near fatal. I had open surgery in the March to remove it. I still suffered pain and ended up being admitted two more times. CT scan and ultrasound again revealed I had a gallbladder! Yes I had two! I am now coming into 3 years and still having pain and problems and feeling poorly, but my surgeon hasn't given up on me! I am still undergoing tests and more tests! I want so much to feel well again with no pain.... Hopefully they will find the problem and deal with it again. I find the hospital one if the cleanest in the Northeast. I obviously trust them and my surgeon, Mr Farrell with my life! Some nursing staff leave a lot to be desired! They don't believe what you say as a patient, until they hear what your surgeon says. Some think they are god and run your life in there. They forget you are a person, a person who doesn't want to be in the hospital. I missed my family so very much while I was poorly. They don't see this! They seem too busy to care! But also some nurses, hca and domestics keep you sane! Night shift have the best care.
