Albertsons

I am sorely disappointed in the QUALITY of products offered here. I have had milk go sour BEFORE THE EXPIRATION DATE at least 3 or 4 times - to their credit, they always replace it for me when I take it back - but that's a real PITA......Today, I bought chicken, pork and hamburger. The beef was in the clearance bin and had a coupon for $$ off so I knew it was close to the sell-by date...oops, it was one day PAST the date! When I got home, I opened the chicken...it was gummy and smelled bad....yup, also one day past the sell-by date (but it was NOT marked as 'clearance'), I'll take it back tomorrow. And the pork roast (which did have a current date) was so fatty that I will have to talk to the manager about it too....a 3.5lb roast yielded 2.5lbs of usable meat...and I was not that picky in trimming off the fat. ... ,Alpine deserves better than this!
Albertsons is a great store. The staff is very friendly, the store is clean and light, all items are fresh. My dog food brand is the same price as Walmart, and I can always get my brand of water, it is fully stocked (not so at Walmart). The store manager is very involved with the community and supports us teachers in Alpine. Their store made salsa and chips are delicious. On Monday there is a chicken dinner special for four people for only $7.99. I actually would like to hold on to the hard nosed stand on reusing plastic bags. But then some other patrons don't.
Nice store, glad it's here! Quality is good, prices about normal for this company (remember, you're out in the country). The "greenie" no-plastic-bags policy is no longer in force--hurrah! I recycle bags anyway, so it was just an inconvenience to me.
Albertson's is just fine. But you need to update this site! Albertson's closes at 11pm, NOT midnight!
While they have a very nice staff for the most part, the store is always well kept and they seem to support the local community, they lost our business when they went "BAGLESS". I refuse to be held hostage by the environmental wackos. There are other ways to take care of the plastic bag problem. I live about three blocks away from the store and now only go there for one or two items when needed. I always voice my opinion to the staff there and from what most have told me, (other than the manager who is holding firm on the environmental line), they have received a majority of complaints and lost many other customers.
