If you can try to avoid this dentist. He obviously looks for "reasons" to charge more specially if you have insurance. Same thing as the comments below me happened to me, I called since they were in the list of my providers. I wanted to get a cleaning and anything that I NEEDED and was COVERED under my insurance. They told me everything I was going to get done, was and I still had to pay a massive amount of money out of pocket. They also told me to make an appointmet so I wont wait in lobby which I did make an appt. Appoitnment was set for 9:00 am and was seen at noon there excuse was they were patients in front of me, mind you I heard the nurses greeting that doctors as he secretly walked in. The only reason I stayed is because they would charge me $125.00 for not cancelling ahead of time. Another reason I was not contempt with this doctor, when he saw me he said I had 4 cavities, I was surprised since 3 months ago I had gone to my doctor and she never mentioned anything about cavities instead she said I had nice healthy teeth. Afraid of rotting my other teeth I decided to take care of 2 cavities and did fillings, its been 3 month and my teeth were he put the filling hurt. He obviously didn't fill it correcty or messed up my teeth. I will be going to another dentist to see how true is it about the cavities.
My children and I went to Dr. Orozco for a cleaning and 6 month check up. He was close to our home so I thought we would try a new dentist. First of all this was the worst "cleaning" I've ever had. They basically brushed and flossed my teeth for 10 minutes. Then the Dr. tried to sell me $600 mouth guards for all four of us stating we had short roots and needed them. He then went thru the x-rays and explained that each of my children had 5-6 cavities that needed to be filled and the cost per kid was around $1200. We go to the dentist every 6 months and I doubted that all 4 of my kids could suddenly have that many cavities. When I took them for a second opinion I was told that one kid had 1 cavity and the others had none. NONE. It was like being treated by a used car salesman. He focused only on money and how much he could get from me. I have since talked to 2 other people who had similar experiences with this dentist.
Very dishonest office. This office was a preferred provider for my insurance for routine dental work. I called and spoke with Heather and asked her to make sure that I only receive the covered procedures under my plan. To make a long story short I have to pay out of pocket because they performed procedures that they knew were not covered. I spoke with Heather and Ross about the bill and both were not sensitive or sorry about their mistake and said that no matter I am responsible for the bill. To further this Dr. Orozco will rip you off. He claimed that more was wrong than actually was the case. I am not stupid, so I went and got a second opinion who stated I have 1/4 of what he said I have... GO SEE DR. MARY THOMAS IN SANTEE INSTEAD...she is totally worth the drive!!!!!
I have been a patient of Dr Orozco for 20 years. His work is excellent and so is his staff. I have known a couple of people that have been unhappy with him and it was because they didn't want to pay their bill. His staff will deal with your insurance but will not take short cuts, practice insurance fraud or have your treatment determined by your insurance.
