Safeway

Let me describe the 2 major problems with this store: 1) NO SELF-CHECKOUT I have asked the manager ages ago why they don't have this. There is too much traffic at this Safeway. Since Starbucks moved out of inside Ssafeway, there was plenty of room to put self-checkout here, but instead more display stands were put up. 2) DANGEROUS GAS STATION Not enough traffic light around and also there's not really a definite flow of traffic in the parking lot near the pumps. Instead, enjoy having people nearly run into you every time you go from any entrance or the store parking lot to the gas station and vice versa!!! GOOD NEWS? Well, the store has great stuff and nice sales. Friendly cashiers!!! Please fix these other problems though!!! I have to go out of my way to use the entrance with speed bumps because otherwise too dangerous!!! Long checkout time!!! Don't go there around supper time!!! You will go hungry waiting!!!
long waits at the cash register..bakery and deli don't have it together most of the time..not enough workers..you'd think they would stop being so cheap and keep a good staff of full time workers that know their job,..shopping carts all stored outside when raining .don't shop on a rainy day..rest rooms..forget it..meat dept..managers discounted meat has to be brown before you lower the price?..they used to mark it 50/0 off and color was still good..guess they's rather throw it out than give us a deal..i like the employees... they have to stuggle to keep us cause managment wants to save a few bucks!..get it together Safeway..get enought full time workers in there and clean it up!
Was supposed to be a favor for my sis and just a quick bakery pick-up... So I'm waiting in the car while hubby goes to pick up the cakes. Turns out, the Bakery dept didn't have the cakes ready on time. When it was completed, they weren't what sis ordered. Then, the manager offered a price adjustment but said it couldn't be completed at the Bakery dept but to go to customer service. Hubby waits in line for 30+ minutes and customer service says the Bakery dept can do adjustments. (!$@#*(!*#!) Hubby gets out to the car with the 2 cakes and one of them is completely sliding around in the plastic case. Have to go back to the Bakery dept, ask them to stick the cake down to the plastic base. I ask who gave my husband the cake like this, I'm told it was Brandy, the manager. I ask to speak to her. "She's gone for the day". I know it's Xmas Eve. All the more reason why I resent what should have been a quick 10 minute task at most turning into an hour and ten minutes. Safeway American Canyon - get your act together!! I don't know if it's the employee or the manager lying, but someone is. And while I'm venting, I think it's totally gross that employees use the shopping carts to empty the trash bins and yes, your management team is aware and yes, it's still an ongoing problem.
I talked to a manager one time about security and he misled me completely. You can not trust all the people all the time.I like to get sandwiches here and some produce. It's the only real market in American Canyon so where elses can you go. Do not get gas when its crowded they do not have helpers like they do in the east bay and soth bay areas.
Where to begin? I live in Oregon, and I've been in the beautiful little town of American Canyon since November. The only pimple I've found these past months has been the Safeway here. It doesn't matter what time you go to this store, there is always a long wait because they don't staff enough checkers. The store keeps their carts outside, and when it rains they are sopping wet. But you would be mistaken if you were to think that they move a few carts in at a time and dry them off for the customers. You also would be wrong if you used your common sense to assume that they would at least have towels for you to do it yourself. Nope! You have to go to the deli and get a load of napkins to get that job done! And the service desk. Oh. My. Lord. It is more like the anti-service desk. There is NEVER anyone at the desk. EVER. They usually aren't even hiding in the little secret room that service desks usually have. You know the one, with the window that they don't think you can see through. But you CAN see just enough to tell that there is someone in there, who sees you standing there yet doesn't make a move to help you for about 5 minutes. They don't even have anyone to ignore you in that little room! After 5 to 10 minutes of standing there, as all of the cashiers see you and don't call on the magic intercom for someone to come help you, someone comes strolling up, looking surprised that there is actually a customer who needs service at the customer service desk. The idea! Here is my suggestion. In my town, the Safeway store is the best place for customer service. Food 4 Less is the worst, with the worst produce in town. However HERE in American Canyon, right down the street from Safeway, you will find the best little Food 4 Less you ever did see! The produce department is the best one I've ever seen in any grocery store. They have plenty of cashiers and you wait as long as you would expect, but not nearly as long as you would at Safeway. The store is clean and well stocked. This is the palce to go, people!
