Dr. Gomez is the only dentist I've had throughout my entire life, for good reason. He treats me very well and develops a good relationship with all his patients. His receptionist is kind and they get me in and out very quickly and to my liking. Every instrument used is clean and sanitary. I receive a phone call from Dr. Gomez and his staff to see how I'm doing after treatment and they set up a return visit so I don't have to. His office is conveniently located on 3rd avenue and his prices are very fair. I recommend Dr. Gomez to everyone. I got my braces put on and removed here and my teeth have looked PERFECT ever since. I couldn't be happier with my new smile. I'm not afraid of cameras anymore.
Luis Gomez was my dentist for approximately 30 years and I'm not sure what happened but I will never go to him again. When I began treatment with him back in the 80's he had a wonderful assistant (Lily - who was a dentist in the Phillipines) and a wonderful office manager (Mengi (sp?) who was also awesome). He let got of Mengi after "many years" and just prior to that his practice went downhill drastically. He had to replace a crown (which I'm still having problems with 5 years later) 4 times because the work was so bad. He also performed a root canal on me that he should have never performed. Then to top it all off when I had a question about my billing he didn't have the courtesy to even respond to me. Instead he had brought in some family member who was extremely rude, unqualified and a royal pain in the A. I paid him off and haven't returned since. Very sad after a family-like friendship for many years.
This place should keep that old adage in mind: You never get a second chance to make a first impression... This was probably the worst dentist office I've ever been to in my life. For a private dental office I expected more. The patient chairs are lined up (with a cubicle wall in between each for "privacy") in what looks like a space that was never completed... maybe it was meant to look like an exam room but they just never got there? The place does not looks sterile at all and the surrounding equipment just looks out-dated. I could see blankets of dust and felt like jumping out of my chair and out the door. Didn't have the chance before the dentist came in though... Bad customer service skills on his part as he didn't even bother introducing himself until I asked if he was the dentist! Also he did not wear a mask while he was peeking into my mouth which I found to be unpleasant and gross. I couldn't see the dental tools he was using either. Most offices place them in a tray in front of the patient or to the side of the patient chair and one can see the dentist reach for the tools, etc... This dentist was grabbing things from behind my chair which didn't make me feel to comfortable considering my observations of the office. They said I needed some procedures done but not even the free teeth cleaning will make me go back to this place. I say look elsewhere.
I was defrauded and cheated by Luis Gomez. I wasted such much time, effort, and cost just to get some defrauded money back. Luis Gomez cannot perform as advertised, but he has misleading ads all over free magazines and internet. Better go to Chula Vista small claim court to read his numerous court records from many patient lawsuits against him.
I almost swallowed a drill bit left in my mouth! And oh, that was the most painful operation I ever had.You think I will ever go back to his clinic?
