I went to OPTM for therapy after a car accident. After almost a month of visits, which were authorized by insurance company, OPTM found that my treatment was due to an auto accident. I was contacted by OPTM and was told that the insurance company had not paid anything and that I would have to pay in full the balance due and start to paying the full amount out of pocket, not the prorated amount the insurance company pays. I asked my husband to handle the issue and he had contact with the billing personnel and the manager (Marisella? and Amy ). My husband was told that because this was an auto accident, OPTM was not receiving the total amount, that they were receiving the contracted amount and that the insurance company would be coming to them at a later date to recover the amount the insurance company paid them once the case was settled. My husband set up a conference call with the insurance company and Marisella(?). Blue Cross told OPTM that the reason that they had not been paid is because only two bills, the last two I had treatment for, were submitted. Come to find out OPTM did not submit the month prior bills to Blue Cross for payment. What was most frustrating was that OPTM was going to refuse to provide me services because they did not bill Blue Cross. My husband called four times to have the owner, Paul Christensen, call him and I asked the front desk personally to call my husband on two occasions. No call was ever received and it has been two months. The therapist, Kevin, is very knowledgeable and an excellent therapist and had a great treatment plan. Our complaint is not with him, but with Paul and his billing office
