If it wasn't for the dental assistant, I'd give this place a minus. The Dr. did great work, but he is not gentle at all, nor does he have a good bedside manner. I have insurance, got a cleaning and a couple of cavities filled.... thank goodness for the insurance because it was still pricey. I was told I may need a root canal, crown etc. and was presented with a large amount to pay out of pocket. I had an appointment in their Indio office for a consult. After reading both Palm Springs and Indio office reviews, and asking around for how much people pay, I decided to get a new dentist. Did I say my visit wasn't gentle? This was the worst pain I had experienced filling a cavity. Also, the next day I was still eating soft foods because how rough he was putting shots in my jaw. I give this place 2 stars because the dental assistant who did my xrays and cleaning was the best and belonged in a higher scale office. If you have insurance, time for a bunch of xrays, and only need a cleaning... then this place is great. Ask for the curly haired girl who's name starts with a "T". The xrays and cleaning cost me nothing! If you have no insurance, bring your bank account. :(

I have been to Dr. Bitar prior to my most recent visit and highly recommend him. He is very gentle and ensures that you are not in pain. He is an excellent dentist, very personable. The office staff are efficient and pleasant. They go above and beyond to make any treatment plan fit your budget.

I went into Gentle Dental because I was having severe tooth pain in one molar. After signing at least 30 forms and without even seeing a dentist OR EVEN ASKED WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS I had my full mouth x-rayed (Non-digital type with much more radiation)!! Dr. Carmichael examined my teeth and told me I needed all three wisdom teeth removed (For no valid reason) and four crowns with one of these absolutely NOT NECESSARY AT ALL! (They would grind my perfectly healthy bicuspid down to a small post for no reason other than money!!!!! I was given an appoint to "Come back in four weeks to have $6,600 of work done (incluiding treating the molar pain). I had deep cleaning that day but the hygienist only did the left half of my mouth and made an appointment for three weeks later to do the right half. They did not tell me that since they would be using the (Ultrasonic) cleaner that my insurance WOULD NOT PAY ANYTHING FOR THE CLEANING. Since they used the ultrasonic cleaner (considered quackery by my insurance company) I had to pay $800 for the tooth cleaning (Worth about $150.00). I left with the sever molar pain I walked in with and endured this severe pain now for three weeks while trying to figure out what these con artists were up to. I called my insurance company and they told me, "GET OUT OF THERE QUICK AND DO NOT GO BACK THEY ARE NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING AND ARE CHARGING WAY TOO MUCH!!" I am now in more sever molar pain and cannot eat or sleep, I found out that they did not bill my insurance company like they said they would and billed me 100% . I paid in full at the office but They sent me a bill requesting more money, they can sue me in small claims court! I have had to endure very sever molar pain now for one month since they would not do anything for this!!!! I am desperately trying to find a good and honest dentist. AVOID!! AVOID!! Dr. Carmichael (Russian) probably worked for the KGB doing interrogations for confessions! If they do not like this honest review THEN THEY CAN PLEASE RESPOMD ANDANSWER ME; "Why didn't you help me with my severe tooth pain and tell me to come back in four weeks for UNNEEDED DENTAL WORK with no treatment at all for my pain!!!!"

Bad dentist! Over priced 1200 for a crown! My insurance said that they covered crowns. This place wanted to charge me 1200 , 700 to my insurance and 500 co pay for me. I have had crowns before and they were 700 or less. NOT ONLY THAT! The appointment I had with them took 3 hours! What a waste of time. Very slow! overpriced! STAY AWAY!

The front office workers really are at a lost regarding customer care and quality of service.
