SkinMedica Vitalize Peel The Vitalize Peel is a superficial peel for patients with mild to moderate skin conditions including fine lines, sun damage, pigmentary irregularities and acne and acne scarring. This peel involves a blend of peeling agents: hydroxyl acids, beta hydroxyl acids, and resorcinol. Retinoic acid is applied as a final step. A hand-held fan is used to decrease any burning sensation. There can be up to three days of mild peeling and the procedure is generally repeated every 3-4 weeks. This is the peel ($150.00) I was recommended to have done by Dr. Mark Viera. The only peeling that I have had was around my nose. I was very surprised that nothing was peeling anywhere else on my face. I waited 5 days (hoping something will peel, but it didn't) and I called the office to let them know what happened. Lady I talked to was very nice and told me she will talk to Dr. M. Viera and he will decide what to do. I was hoping for some kind of concern from him , but he never called back. I am very disappointed with that peel and Dr.M. Viera. This was not the first time I have had peel done, and I also have facials . I can honestly say that my simple facials did a lot better job than this peel did, and it wasn't this expensive.
