I went last night to pickup prescriptions for my two young sons that were both sick. The Dr. didn't call in the prescriptions like he said he would earlier in the day. After some back and forth the prescirptions were received by the pharmacy a few minutes before 5pm. After 15 minutes I was told my insurance wasn't going through, but my kids need their meds so I told them I would pay cash for them and work out the insurance stuff myself. I was told ok, it will be just a few minutes. Another 15 minutes go by and a man comes out to show me the price tags of the drugs. I say I already told you it didn't matter the cost I would pay for them. Please just get them for me. After another 30 minutes, during this time approximately 15 people have received their medication and left, I am told that they have just ran out of my youngest, and sickest son's, antibiotics and can't fill it. It is now about 5 minutes before closing, I have been waiting for an hour being told just a few minutes over and over, yet I still have no medication for my sick kids. I had come directly from work, as an accountant, so looked professional and had said time and time again I would pay cash for the medication. This company was so worried about money and whether or not i would actually pay that they essentially gave my son's medication to another person. This type of greed is just plain ridiculous. I gave no indication that I was a shady character, nor that I was not going to pay. I had told them that no matter the cost I would pay cash. Apparently that wasn't good enough. I had even offered to pay for it the first time they asked me about paying but they said no, just a few minutes. Needless to say I was very upset. I asked for the prescriptions to be sent to Walgreens instead. The new owners have really ruined what was once an efficient, cheery and helpful pharmacy. They will be getting none of my business any longer and I would discourage anyone in need of last minute prescriptions from counting on them.
