My Standard Schnauzer, Aspen, had TPLO surgery in April 2010 and CRCG was "our place" for all the rehab. Aspen used the underwater treadmill for 3 months and then it was into the swimming pool. Standard Schnauzers aren't necessarily natural swimmers but Christopher was patient in teaching Aspen to swim. A few weeks into swimming and the other knee went requiring another TPLO. We are 4 weeks post op and back at CRCG on the underwater treadmill. The pace is slow and steady. We hope to back in the pool by Thanksgiving. We are working with Kristyn Richardson in the new Broomfield facility and she is AWESOME! We hope to be back in agility trials in 2011, with Kristyn and Christopher's help. UPDATE: People don't often update their original review. . .but I would like to. Aspen got back to agility and she has now achieved her MACH (Master Agility Championship - highest title in AKC agility) plus her T2B and FAST Excellent titles. She continues to swim weekly with Lori (who is such a wonderful, caring person) and does routine massages. CRCG has also helped me with a couple of the other kiddos when they had injuries (Merry and Liebe) and just because they need a massage (Madison and Nova - 11 years old and still running agility :-) I mainly work with Kristyn but Leslie is excellent too. Massage and laser is so effective in keeping my canine athletes in good shape. THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU! kmd
Our schedules changed recently and we haven't been able to take our 1 1/2 year old aussie mix running, hiking, climbing or skiing as much as she is used to (a lot). We took her here to burn off some energy and I can honestly say I have never seen her happier. She is a very active dog who is very in shape, and needs constant exercise. She was squealing the entire time we were there. The facility was great, very nice people and we can't wait to go back!
When we found out that our 4 y/o very active Lab required TPLO surgery we were devastated. We had heard so many stories of dogs never fully recovering to their former level of activity. (He is our furry son who goes every where with us (hiking, camping, running, swimming, etc) The knowledge, care and kindness of the entire staff at CRCG helped all of us through the difficulties of recovery. They were even patient enough to spend a half hour in trying to get our pup over his fear of the ramp into the pool. We would recommend them for rehab or just for fun in the pool!
Hugo has been getting therapy for years, crcg has been a great replacement for us after alameda east closed! The laser treatments recommended for him have done wonders! Every one at CRCG has been great! POGO JTN
So happy to have been referred to CRCG after my corgi/chihuahua mix's leg surgery. Shadow is doing great in large part because of the rehab they provide and the home exercise routine they patiently taught to me! I recommend them highly! POGOelh
