Physical Therapy: Gillespy Mark C MD
Reviews

What a bad experience! I would not recommend for anyone to go to Dr. Mark Gillespy. His bedside manner is completely rude and insensitive. I was interrupted in every sentence as I tried to explain my injury and overall situation. This doctor had all ready had made his incorrect conclusion that, "I just have a strained back". That is not the case. He concluded this incorrect diagnosis with only reviewing x-rays from the emergency room. He is not a Radiologist nor does he have super powers, so I can only assume he derived this conclusion from the radiating pain in my right leg and loss of feeling in my toes. I am not a Doctor, but this I an obvious nerve issue not just a sprained muscle. As I was leaving, he ordered his nurse to threatened to have me removed by security after I asked for his recommendation to the correct doctor for my situation and if this requires a referral. They also tried to force me to pay almost twice my co-pay because he took unneeded x-rays. I had already provided him with the same x-rays from only days before. I did not ask for more x-rays nor was I told that I would be charged for them too. Needless to say, I will be writing a complaint on Mark Gillespy. Dr. Mark Gillespy was over all the rudest doctor I have ever met.

I would give Dr. Mark Gillespy no stars if I could. He misdiagnosed my spondylolisthesis as a level 2 and it is actually a level 5. The doctors at the Laser Spine Institute in Tampa said that it was the worst case of spondylolisthesis that they had ever seen. Dr. Gillespy said that the sciatica down my right leg was not sciatica because it went down the side of my leg, not the front of my leg. Sciatica or pain across the lower back and butt area and down the side of the leg is text book for problems between L5 and L4. He said it was caused by nerve compression in my leg because I was fat. He put me through aggressive physical therapy for my hip which caused me such intense back pain that I could barely walk for a year and a half. He evidently didn't read the part of the Hippocratic oath which says, "First do no harm."
