I'm not very pleased with this medical clinic. I saw Dr. HInckley after a four hour wait for what I believed were flu symptoms, i.e. sore throat, painful hacking cough, slight fever, weakness, headache, pain in joints, etc. The doc saw me for a whole 2 minutes and 23 seconds and prescribed a Z-pac and an inhaler meant for people with asthma. I don't have asthma and have never had it. In the meantime I have a persistent and painful cough that the doc didn't really seem concerned about at all. Most medical clinics usually give you a shot of a steroid type drug with flu-like illnesses that gets you back on your feet quickly. Most docs also give you something to knock out the cough, but Hinckley is a quack.
I have strep throat and I've been in severe pain for 5 days. I've been taking 800 mg of ibuprofen every 8 hours to zero effect. These clowns gave me 10 days worth of amoxicillin, but I still can't eat or drink anything. When I asked what about the pain? They told me to go to the e.r... They should revoke their right to practice, what a racket.
We had an excellent experience there on vacation last August. My grand daughter was running a fever, that would not go down, despite children's Advil. We called and were told the wait might be a half hour. We decided to go anyway, and the wait was actually only about 15 minutes and most of that was filling in the paperwork. We were seen promptly by the nurse and then the doctor, who diagnosed strep throat! She would not get better without a course of antibiotic. We were glad we went.
I brought my teen son in after he dove to the bottom of the swimming pool and came up saying ear hurt. Apparently this is a very common in Destin because the doctor took one look in his ears and then measured his ear pressure with a handheld device. We were in and out within an hour with a prescription for some ear drops. We went across the street and filled the prescription and while in the pharmacy picked up some ear plugs to keep the water out. I told my son no more diving to the bottom. He did not want to feel that pain again so he abided by the no diving rule. Emerald Coast Urgent Care is a nice clean place and they took my out of state insurance no problem.
Great staff, excellent service. Received personalized care from the doctor. I would definitely recommend this Urgent Care Center.
