On April 12th 2014 I had bitten into a hard substance and cracked a tooth, as I bit down the cracked part drove into my gums causing extreme pain, the tooth could be moved with my finger very easily and also was very visible. I called Dr Marie J Basco office and they said I could come in at 11 for an extra and a consultation and it would be $100, I showed up at 11 and went through the registration process and waited for Dr Marie J Basco to see me, the extra technician put me in a room and said which tooth is it and pointed to the one that was cracked, then ex-rayed it and I waited for Dr Marie J Basco to return to see me in the room. Dr Marie J Basco looked at the ex ray and said yes I see a fracture, we can do a root canal and a crown and save the tooth, I said OK made my appointment for the next day to complete the repair. Dr Marie J Basco came in the room and administered the antiseptic and numbing agent with a needle in several areas numbing my entire mouth, once it was numb Dr Marie J Basco started working on the tooth and because I can not feel anything I'm assuming Dr Marie J Basco is working on the cracked tooth number 13 when in fact they were working on the wrong tooth number 12 of which I didn't know because I was totally numb. After two hours the medication was wearing off and I touched the tooth that was broken with my tong and to my shock they were working on number 12 not the broken one 13, i explained this to the assistant and she said she was only do what had been instructed and that I would have to wait till Dr Marie J Basco was finished with another patient before we could go any further, I wanted for 45 minutes because she was in the office that day by her self and the schedule was completely booked. Dr Marie J Basco cam in the room and listened to what I had to say and apologized and said I should have used my stick to make sure we were on the correct tooth, next time I will make sure my staff dose this to avoid this in the future. Dr Marie J Basco applied more Novocaine with the needle to my mouth and decided that tooth number 13 that I came in for had to extracted and could be saved, in the meanwhile I now have a good tooth carved for a crown and that I just had gone through a root canal that was very long and painful. Pulling the tooth took quite some time maybe an hour or so because it was broken off and only a small piece could be grabbed by her pliers to remove it, the tooth then broke off and had to be drilled out and that took anther hour. I was in the chair for over six hours and by the time I left I was mentally shot, I just wanted to pay my bill and leave, as I was doing so Elsie Chua office manager said that my bill was going to be $883 and the crown would be $1000 and that I would have to pay half of the $1000 and that would be a deposit on the crown once it was ordered so I wrote a check for $1383 0n 4/15/2014 so I could just get out of there. The following week I went back and spoke with Elsie saying that i wasn't comfortable having Dr Marie J Basco complete the work and would like my $500 dollars back for the crown deposit because I was going to have it done else were based on my experience at Dr Marie J Basco office. Elsie Chua said maybe they could refund $250 back but she would have to discuss this with Dr Marie J Basco and then call me back, that never happened so today 7/1/2014 I stopped in to speak with Elsie Chua, she informed me there would be no refund and that I owed $500 for the crown that was never order no a mold taken for to do so. All I wanted was my deposit back for something that was never order or a mold taken to produce, this has been the worse experience of my life and I would with this on anyone, so don't go to Dr Marie J Basco DDS office.
