The MRI machine itself was wonderful. No claustruphobia! Noise level wasn't too loud either. However, the male technician was rude and impatient. I told him I was nervous since this was my first MRI but he didn't seem to care. I arrived 40 minutes prior to my appt but he still acted rushed and impatient. He was annoyed that I asked to use the restroom before starting. On my doctor's request I brought the CD of my x-rays to point out what he should be imaging but he refused to look at them with me. During the scanning he never gave me any progress updates. There is a TV you can watch while being scanned but he never asked my preference and didn't even turn the sound up - closed captioning only. At one point he mumbled "God!" and stormed out the room. I already felt bad about being so nervous and repeatly apologized, and all he could say was a rude comment about how most people calm down immediately. If I need another scan, I will not be going back there. My recommendation: if you must get an upright MRI because you are too claustrophobic, ask for a different technician. Or try to go to another open MRI center.
