I tried to schedule an appointment as a new patient. The office staff demanded my name, social security number, and date of birth. Imagine the damage that can be done giving someone that information. They wanted to contact my insurance agency before scheduling an appointment. When I could not provide a 1-800 number, she refused service. I gave her an 855 number, and an 877 number. Neither were acceptable. Had to be an 800 number. Someone needs to inform her that 800 numbers may have different digits after the 8. And any reputable business professional, such as a doctor or dentist, typically will not demand insurance over the phone. If I failed to provide an insurance card/proof of insurance upon arrival of my appointment, I could understand refusal of service. AVOID this dentist.
