My mother had a terrible experience under the care of Dr. Friedman. She was seeking a PCP in the Grovetown, GA area to be closer to her home and place of employment. Unfortunately, she experienced some of the worst care I've witnessed within the CPC group. Her initial appointment was for a yearly physical. They forgot to check her BS, which she had to return for and was charged ANOTHER copay! My mom honestly did not understand why she would be charged a second time, but paid it anyway (People who are not knowledgeable on medical practice/office stuff get swindled). She went for a third time at the request of her orthopedic surgeon to get cleared for a hip replacement surgery. At the time of her visit she gave the necessary paperwork to the office staff/medical assistant and requested that all of the screenings be sent directly to the orthopedic office to clear her to surgery so that she could proceed with scheduling. At this appointment they failed to realize the surgeon (which was listed on the paperwork she gave to the staff) wanted an EKG and a CXR. She had to return to the office for the EKG (another copay) and then go to the hospital for the CXR. I asked her why they wouldn't allow her to complete both studies at the hospital out of connivence, again she wasn't sure, but I'm confident it was to get another copay from my mother. At this point my mom is completing these tests 2 months in advance from when she wants to schedule her surgery. These 2 months quickly passed an no letter or screening were sent to the surgeons office. My mom attempted to contact the PCP office multiple times to get them to send the necessary paperwork and was assured it was on the to-do list or had already been sent. After all this waiting I finally called the office. I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes. I hung up and called back to find out that they were closed for the day. I then called the after hours line and explained the emergency of the situation. My mother needed the paperwork sent quickly by this point so that she could schedule during a certain time so that I could fly home to Augusta to care for her as I live 9 hours away. The after hours staff transferred me to the staff at the PCP office who were actually still there, but not answering calls. I spoke with a lady who was very unpleasant and she insisted that my mom did not give her the correct information on where to send the paperwork. I was livid at this point and demanded something be done so that the surgery could be scheduled in time for me to be able to care for my mother! Eventually the paperwork was sent to the surgeons office and my mom was able to schedule her surgery for a different time than what was desired. My mom called the office a few days after I spoke with them and the staff treated her very poorly on the phone and informed her that Dr. Friedman would be dropping her as a patient. Dr. Friedman called my mom later in that same week (after my mother called the corporate office to complain) informing her that he would not tolerate such behavior and he would be dropping her as a client. I know this is a VERY long review, so I do apologize, but I want the readers to see just how unfair, disorganized, and rude this office was to my family. I hope they learn from this mistake and establish better lines of communication and hire more efficient office staff. I work at a hospital and MD's office PRN and understand the inner workings of this field of work and KNOW with confidence this type of stuff should not happen with a competent staff. Thanks for reading..end rant.
