Great Expressions Dental Centers
Reviews
My husband, daughter and I have used this location and have been very pleased with the staff - from the dental to the techs to the receptionists. They worked with us to get my husband in immediately after he broke a tooth and my daughter had excellent care while she was in braces.
This is the first review I have ever written and for good reasons. As many have said before, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. My boyfriend went here a few months ago to finish having work done on a crown he had started elsewhere and was told that he needed extensive "preventative" work done on several other teeth, although he has never had problems and takes great care of his teeth. They fed him the same bull that they have fed many others about all these "new" medical procedures they were charging him extra for, the SAME things I have been getting done since I was a child that were PART of my general office visit. They fed off his insecurities and lack of knowledge on dental care for their own personal gain. We now have over $2,000 (yes, that number is right!) for work that was not neccessary and he STILL is waiting to get his permanant crown put on. My boyfriend had dental insurance, which would have covered a majority of this bill had we been properly informed about insurance coverage. This office is sleazy, unprofessional, and only out for your money!
I've never written a review before, but I consider a civic duty to warn others of this place. I'm sure the other two reviews are 100% accurate, as I've had almost the same thing happen to me. This place specializes in billing. They accept low quality dental plans and bill for every service possible. Then they turn around and bill you for not only the copays/coinsurance, but also miscellaneous charges. My wife and I are pretty astute in regards to insurance, I even work in an HR department, and I can honestly say that we caught this place committing insurance fraud. Well, I have too many things to say to fit them all in here, and I can already tell that my previous two paragraphs don't really flow, but I cannot stress it enough. If you care about your wallet or your teeth, then for the sake of all things holy, avoid this place at all costs!!! (I'm half tempted to leave my email address, because I'd gladly answer questions for anyone.)
Protect your teeth and find another dentist. Highly unprofessional staff. COMPLAINED that they had to clean so many teeth. I had a tooth repaired but dentist left a pocket of air (a bubble) in the process, and re-opened a few days later. He also shaved 2 other teeth to make room for his work without asking. They also do not provide any of the typical free mouthwash/toothpaste/brush etc. Please find a different dentist.
Extremely thorough and professional is how I would rate Dr. Harvey and his staff. They do offer and encourage preventative services that are not required but will help you in the long run like sealing adult teeth, and teeth whitening, and possibly even more important mouth cancer screenings. Even if you have never smoked a day in your life, you can benefit from this simple cancer screening in an area you wouldn't notice a problem until it is possibly too late -- though you do not have to do these. I really appreciate the meticulous cleaning that will help keep my teeth and me healthy year after year. While I have not experienced what some of the negative reviewers have said, I do know other doctors will not agree to keep treating someone if you chose not to take the recommended action and I believe that is related to liability. I am sure you can always find a less thorough office who may not feel as strong about preventative actions that often are lurking there before pain indicates an issue.
