Our pup had issues with skin and coat from an early age. although he had a great appetite eating anything put before him, he scratched and his nails were brittle. I heard good things about Kapaau Vet from others who had similar issues. We traveled across the island with our pup and after a few visits, Dr Woodley and staff took good care of us and set us up with a diet and herb program that made a big difference. I'm very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to take any of my pets to Kapaau Vet.

We are so fortunate to have found Dr. Woodley. One of dogs had serious problems with her belly. It was so bad that she threw up blood at times; she was miserable & it was scary . Dr. Woodley discovered that she had severe food allergies and treats her with a unique & effective blend of western medicine & complimentary therapies. Now she is a happy girl! Our other dog has had a fractured bone & dislocation in her neck; and problems with both knees. Dr. Woodley got her back on her feet through all of it by providing just the kind of treatment that she needed; and referring her out to an orthopedic surgeon once for one of her knees. She has guided us in her rehabilitation, and now thankfully she is on the mend. I can't say enough good about Dr. Woodley and her staff!

It should first be made very clear that this is the only 'holistic' vet on the island of Hawaii. We are clients and we are 3 hours away from this 'holistic' vet. We called to set up a 'phone consult' at $75/hr to inquire about the minimum requirements for flying dogs back to the mainland. We were abruptly notified by Dr Woodley that a 'Rabies Vaccination' was the minimum required. We asked if there was a way around it, and she said there was 'no way around it'. As I attempted to inform her of the ACTUAL FACTS BECAUSE I'D ALREADY DONE THE RESEARCH, she hung up on us. More later on the reasons for the abrupt misinformation. These are the facts from the CDC and Hawaiian Airlines: 1) CDC: If you are importing a pet to the mainland from a RABIES FREE COUNTRY OR TERRITORY (Hawaii), you are NOT REQUIRED TO VACCINATE/poison AGAINST RABIES. 2) The CDC declared the entire U.S. Canine Rabies Free in 2007. 3) Hawaiian Airlines, in addition to most carriers out of Hawaii, require ONLY 'A LETTER OF GOOD HEALTH AND ACCLIMATION' (Healthy enough to fly) Now a bit more on the loving attitude and lies about vaccines; If you're looking for dog boarding on the Southern end of the island of Hawaii and you really love them......ABSOLUTELY DO NOT TAKE THEM TO SUPERCARE ( So Orwellian) KENNELS IN OCEAN VIEW. Let's put it this way; Never trust a business that you're going to leave your beloved pets in the care of if they screen every phone call, 100% of the time. They have something to hide. One of our dogs was sedated and shock collared because he was stressing out. Idiots. Oh by the way, we never would've allowed that, never would've signed to OK it. Never. Guess who recommended Superscare Kennels?? You guessed it, the only 'holisitic' vet on the Big Island. When we called Kapa'au Vet clinic (3 times) to express our concern about the treatment at Superscare.......we NEVER got a call back from the only 'holistic' vet on the island. Why? Because the Vet and the Kennel guard at Superscare are friends. Very professional. KNOW YOUR PETS RIGHTS!
