I have never been treated so poorly at a physician's office as I was here. I was a new patient going in for a routine eye exam. I hadn't been to the eye doctor in about a year and knew my prescription was about to run out. I order my contacts with 1-800-contacts. I saw this office driving by one day and thought it looked really nice and gave them a call for an appointment. I wear both contacts and glasses. I wore my glasses to my appointment. I did not bring my contact info with me because I thought they could tell what my prescription was by my glasses and by their machines and expertise. I had thought that my vision had changed any way so assumed the eye doctor would be able to tell me my new strength. I was dead wrong. I was examined by the technician for about 20 minutes. She was very pleasant and did a thorough exam. I would have thought SHE was the doctor. Then she put drops in my eyes to dilate them and walked me to a different room. I waited in that room for about 15 minutes listening to the office women gossiping about their personal lives ... Loud enough for me to hear the whole story about one of the women's son. Anyway the doctor finally came in with her assistant. We talked about my current prescription and the type of contacts that I wore now. She had felt that my vision hadn't changed. We discussed in detail the type and brand of contacts I wore and that I felt they weren't giving me the results I needed. She said I had the option to come in for a fitting for a new brand as there are better brands for what I needed out there but I would need to be fitted for them. I had already run out of my old contacts and was going away the following week so I said I would just order my old ones for then and schedule an appointment for my fitting when I returned. She was in agreement with that and wrote a script and sent me on my way. I opted to order my contacts with the office because I was already there and needed them sooner than later. I received my contacts and at first noticed the box looked different from what I was used to but I didn't think anything of it. I put the contacts in and immediately noticed they were different. I could not see. It was already after hours for the office and then the weekend followed. I went away the next week and when I returned the following week I called the eye doctor office and said that I had received the wrong contacts and that I had only used one pair .. could I return them and order the correct ones? You would think I would get an apology and a "sorry for the mix up, we will get you squared away right away". No. Instead I was finger pointed at, blamed, belittled, and attacked. It was my fault because I did not bring in the contact info. It was my fault because I didn't know the exact strength in each eye... (This was the assistant telling me all of these things. The doctor never called me. Not once.) The assistant was very argumentative. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. She said "I am sorry that you were not in understanding of what the doctor was telling you about your contacts". Basically calling me an idiot. I even said whether it was a miscommunication on my part or on theirs that it shouldn't be an issue. All I wanted was to return the ones that I could not wear and get the correct ones. Long story shortened, I went back and forth with this assistant for a few days and finally had had enough of her "You didn't do this and You didn't do that" attitude, that I got connected with the billing department. The woman I spoke to there was extremely nice and helpful. She got it approved for my refund and apologized on behalf of the assistant. I did not reorder my contacts with the office. I went back to 1-800-CONTACTS. The problem is I have to start all over with finding a new eye doctor because I still cannot see as clear as I would like. Very disappointed overall with my experience. Would not recommend and will not go here again.
