Waldo County General Hospital

Nice little hospital. I've been there for emergency room, surgery and assorted other things, and have always been happy. Friendly staff, less waiting in the emergency room, and they appear to know what their doing. I know people who have come here from Augusta due to the quality of care. My neighbor also received excellent cancer care, and has since recovered.

I've been a patient there and also an outpatient. I've never received less than 100% service, with caring, expert nurses and doctors. Several friends have also been admitted and they feel the same way. The place is clean, the cafeteria is outstanding and friendly smiles abound. I never had one moments fear while I stayed there. I never asked one question that wasn't answered fully and precisely. I am so grateful that a hospital this good resides in our community.

Their Mental health clinic is a nightmare..... it is a disgrace, you cannot reach a real live real person let alone get an appointment. After the run around we got even with referrals from primary care Dr, and the so-called appointments that never existed, the day after day after day of "wait for the beep" and never ever a return call........ on and on.... if you need mental health or psych care, do not waste your time calling them. Maybe better luck getting help at Bangor or Ellsworth or if you can find someone in private practice.

WCGH is the BEST. Fifteen years and no issues.

Horrible! They sent us to penbay or said we could wait for another couple of hours while observing my mother in law barely breathing. She died a few days later
