I never knew there was anything wrong with my eyes until I had my third child. Finally, I went to a "big box store" for a quick exam - only to walk out with a pair of "reading glasses". They had one pair that I repeatedly have to adjusted over the last year and a half. Last week, I went to see Dr.Renee for an exam. The experience was 180 degrees from my last. Considering this is all new to me, I was amazed at all the gizmos the office had to test/check out my eyes. She was able to show me digitial images of my eyes!!! While there, she even found something in my eyes that the previous exam didn't mention at all. Dr. Renee was offered a very complete exam. She explained everything she was doing, and what each portion of the exam was for. I appreciate this so much, especially when this is all still relatively new to me. After the exam, her very cheerful and knowledgeable staff helped me pick out a new pair of glasses (which is an overwhelming prospect for a novice when there are so many choices!) - meanwhile, explaining the mechanics of why my previous glasses likely needed adjustement repeatedly. While watching the "ordering process", she took measurements that the "big box store" most definitely did not. Not once did I feel uncomfortable for having "cheaped out" the first time through at the other store. They were very professional about it! And, in the end, the cost of the exam was only slightly higher than the "big box store". I highly recommend this office, and Dr. Renee! I am excited to go back to pick up my new glasses....and I will be returning next fall, most definitely.
I had mixed experienced while I was at Vision Source. We had new vision coverage, they were close so i thought we would try them out. I went in first with my daughter. which was a great experience. She picked cute frames.. I asked the women who was helping us for a detailed price list of how much it would be. She quickly was able to provide me with that information. i knew what I was in for... My second experience was with myself. I called to make my appointment and told the women on the phone exactly what I needed. Also that I wanted to know when i came in an average on how much my contacts would be. When I checked in, I asked them again.. an average on how much my contacts ( which are special order and not the normal soft lenses) would be... i got an exam that took 1.5 hours , in the midst of that exam, i also mentioned it to the doctor.. I wanted a general idea of what i would be in for with pricing... As I was being examined, she drank coffee the entire time. While she was 'checking" on something from my records, she came back and said that she had ordered my contacts... which I didn't want to do without knowing how much they would be. Even when I was leaving I asked the women again at the desk... I just felt like i never got a straight answer and I should have not had to ask 4 times...
