Sparrow Mason Urgent Care
Reviews
Took my husband in for a procedure and was very pleased with Dr. E. Smith and her assistants ~ everyone was friendly, thoughtful and right to the work at hand. I appreciate they're attentiveness and care to my husband. They did yesterday what Allegiance in Jackson wouldn't do until mid November......my husband wasn't able to wait until then - and Mason Urgent Care Staff knew this and took care of him immediately. Thank- you !!!!
I was very dissapointed with Mason Urgent Care. I was in and out within about 15 minutes, because I went very late at night, almost closing time. But the Doctor didnt spend more than 3 minutes with me, diagnosed me with a sinus infection and sent me out the door with a z-pak. I went to my doctor a few days later because I was feeling worse, and they said that every urgent care between September and Feburary claim any illness is a sinus infection. Come to find out, i had walking pnuemonia. I called Mason Urgent care and they said that I can come in to be re-diagnosed.... with another co-pay. Of course. Will not go there again. Will not recommend anyone go there.
Absolutely the worst "Urgent Care" in Ingham County. I have used this facility twice. Both times were because of injuries following horse events at the fairgrounds and they were the closest emergency facility around. The first time we had an arrogant doctor that talked down to me as the parent and berated me for allowing my 15 year old daughter to be involved in horses. He told her how lucky she was that her foot wasn't broken, sent her home with no pain medication or anti inflammatories, and suggested we get out of playing with horses. The second visit was three years later when my now 18 year old daughter cut her finger. Despite a bleeding wound, we waited for almost two hours before we left to find a more appropriate "Urgent" care in Okemos. The intake nurse acted bored with her job and never asked us if the wound was bleeding. We made sure to leave dripping blood out the door while a kid that was "crying" as he came in because he cut his finger was treated immediately. My daughter said, "You should have pinched me so that I would have started crying and then maybe they would have seen me sooner." Lesson leanred - you need to whine and cry to get seen at Mason.
This urgent care is horrible. If you have time, go to sparrow. I live in the area and have been misdiagnosed three times over the last 6 years - when I've had to go there. Friends and family have been misdiagnosed. Just yesterday, a friend's daughter was misdiagnosed with a sinus infection instead of a concussion (which is the reason I had to write this review). After the girl started forgetting her name, she was taken to sparrow where they said she had a huge bruise on her brain and was admitted into the hospital immediately. Unless you have a severe flesh wound, I wouldn't risk going here.
Open 9 to 9 every day. Very convenient.
