Destiny Dental

dont expect anything at all!! we called to make an appointment in november, didnt get scheduled until christmas and drove 45 minutes to get there, we walk in and they said that they never had an appointment even scheduled for us. so we would have to be seen as a walk in emergency and wait for hours to be seen due to the "scheduled" patients. then they had said that they accepted our insurance and when we tried to use it they said that they no longer did and we would have to pay out of pocket. we left and i called our insurance company and the insurance company stated that destiny dental had NOT been with them since 2000! it was a total scam!! its all about the money and scamming people who actually need help and have no other choice. medicaid doesnt cover crap and destiny dental knows that and is taking advantage of it big time!! on a side note, one of the dental assistants had pink and purple hair, and the other one had a bull ring thru her nose and wreaked of musk perfume. i personally am a dental assistant as well and thats the first rule of assisting!! NO PIERCINGS, keep it calm with your dressing choices and dont GAG the patient by your choice of smells, come on destiny dental you took an oath to help people, not make their lives hell and chase them out!! shame on you!
Only because you cant give it a 0 star rating. CLEAR YOUR SCHEDULE!!! dont expect much from this dental clinic. If you need multiple things done expect to make multiple visits. i had an appt to get my teeth cleaned when done with that visit i needed to go back for fillings and 2 extractions. they told me they could be done the same day. made a second appt upon arrival to that appt they said no we cant do them both the same day. they ended up only pulling one of the two teeth that needed to be done.they told me if i was there earlier they would have been able to do both.(how nice of them to tell me i should make an early appt) i ask if they can just do it real quick so i didnt have to make another appt(it literally took like 5 minute). they told me no make another appt. so i make yet another appt to get the other tooth pulled. Had an appt @12:30, sat there for over an hour asked what was taking so long and why 4 people that got there after me went before me, receptionist said she would check. While sitting there still waiting, i overhear another family that came in that had an appt they scheduled weeks ago and even double checked a few days prior, they said they had no record of an appointment for them and they will be seen as emergency walk in and have to wait until there is an opening. the receptionist finally told me that the dentist i was scheduled with called in sick and they were still trying to get me seen by the other dentist. she said we have an opening at 230 if you still would like to wait. i said ok, im gonna run to the library then. i come back around 230 and sign back in, they said they were ready for you a while ago, we called your name a couple times, then took you off the schedule.i said, "i told you i was gonna run to the library". the receptionist said,oh she did mention something about that i thought that was if she was gonna rechedule. (why would i tell you im going to the library if i reschedule a different day?) they end up puting me back on the schedule. wait like 10 minutes or so they take me back to a room take my blood pressure and said dr will be with you momentarilly. i hear the dr in the room next to me doing work on a girl that was called back after me. after sitting in the room for 45 minutes i ask the assistant how much longer its gonna be, i have another appt at 4, she checks and says its still gonna be a while. shes looking at the booked schedule, i told her i would just call and reschedule. They had about 8-10 receptionist up front at the desk i literally saw one playing with anothers hair while the waiting room was packed. why dont they get rid of some of those extra workers and get more dentists in back Never going back there again, Just an extra note, for a place that caters to children to, they have no activities or even books for kids to do, just movies playing on the 2 tv's. Why is it that only 3 dentist offices in the area accept medicaid type insurance. And you either have to wait on a waiting list, wait forever for an actual appt, or hope that someone cancelled so you can get seen that day. Im sure about 90% of lansing has medicaid insurance, so why dont more dentists accept it and the ones that do make you feel unappreciated because of the type of insurance you have
Dont expect any pain management.
