I wake up and cant breathe and go check on him and his right eye is swollen shut. stop thinking everybody is junkies and do ur jobs I try to never go to the hospital and we damn near had to hog tie Charles to go come on
On March 19th my son fell and would not stop crying. I took him to Valdese ER where they took X rays and found he had broken his leg. The people in the X ray room felt the need to chatter and go on and on about my son's tan, how many other kids did I have, how many of the rest of them got our skin color, all while he is screaming. I finally asked the tech to just stop talking and take care of my son. When the doctor finally came in the room he felt the need to inform me he didn't care what I thought about him he just wanted to take care of my son and that they would be calling C.P.S. on me- before telling me that my son's leg was broken and that I had the option of sending him to Asheville or Charlotte. I picked Charlotte and C.P.S. cleared it as an accident. The cast came off April 29th. On May 13th he slipped in some water, fell on the floor, and began screaming. I rushed him back to the E.R. and asked for X rays on his leg. The X ray technician was much more professional this time. The doctor came to inform me that his leg had broken again. I asked that he be taken any where but Charlotte. I explained that I did not trust those people since 2 weeks prior they took the cast off and said he was fine. He was obviously not fine. The doctor refused. I called Catawba Memorial hospital- they were willing to come pick my son up and treat him there or send him to Baptist. I told the doctor this. He not only refused- he told me that if I stood in the way the state would take custody of my child and I would be put in jail. My husband had arrived with our 5mo old baby by this time and got me to calm down (I was crying) and asked me to go home and pack a bag since we knew we would be there for a few days. I go out the door with my youngest child to find they have posted a security guard at our door. The security guard, nurses, and doctor begin yelling at me that I can not leave with the baby. I yelled back at them that it was my youngest- not the child they were concerned with- and that my husband was with the 2yr old. (In much more colorful language). I walked out the door. A few minutes later a Sheriff's Deputy comes into the exam room to inform my husband that they had been called on me. They also called C.P.S. on me again. I have since found out that it was my right to have my son taken any where I wanted him to go. C.P.S. has once again found it was an accident and after many more x rays a doctor in Marion has found a lesion in my son's bones that may be indicative of cancer. I have called Valdese hospital to make a complaint on everyone in the E.R. the night of May 19th except the x ray technician and the security guard (he only knew what he was told) and have yet to receive a call back. Your people had no right to treat me that way. The doctor had no right to transfer him to Charlotte after I asked for anywhere BUT there. Your people did a full body x ray on him the first time we went- why did they not see the lesion 10 weeks ago?
The care was not only phenomenal, it was a spotless hospital with extremely efficient and capable personnel. THAT is customer service and I am telling anyone who would be ill that this is the place to be for excellence in health care. You can never go wrong there I think. I had kind and caring medical professionals from the doctors to the CNAs that were extremely professional and knowledgeable. I don't see how anyone can see this hospital otherwise. I have been there several times with different people who just aren't tech saavy and they are equally impressed. KUDOS to a WONDERFUL HOSPITAL WITH THE SHARPEST PEOPLE ON THE BLOCK WORKING THERE!
Sardine fast and caring doctors
Quality care, but poor customer service.
