Disgusted with this Sam's Club. As of Feb 2011 they will NOT take back ANY food items unless they're canned goods. I had unopened, undamaged box of cereal and unopened, undamaged bag of nuts returned after 7 days of purchasing with original receipt and credit card I used for purchase. They're POSTED in store policy matches Sam's Club online policy: "100% Satisfaction, Money Back Guarantee." I was at the customer service desk for OVER ELEVEN MINUTES listening to them argue their points with me and LYING to me, arguing that "The store manager has worked in South Carolina and it's a state law there not to take back any food unless it's a canned good due to tampering." I called EIGHT stores in South Carolina and none of them have ever heard of this. I finally got my refund but not without a 'warning' that no more food returns would be given. I've started shopping at Asheville NC Sam;s because they were outraged about my treatment (as have ALL of the Sam;s Clubs I've called to see if they make up their own policies, too. All 30 stores I've called so far across the country have the money back guarantee you can see online. Hendersonville Sam's Club told me "There are LOTS of Sam's club stores that have this policy." Asheville NC Sam's welcomed me with sincerity, compassion, empathay, listened to my concers about Hendersonville's store and really validated me as a customer. The only other customer at Asheville Sam's I struck up a conversation with told me she had the exact same experience with Hendersonville Sam's, but she didn't have time to fight with them, gave up, and just went home with the unopened items she wanted to return.
