The first time I visited the Walmart Vision Center at the Bernalillo Superstore, I was received well, but then the optometrist started the exam. It was obvious that at 4:15pm he was in a hurry to leave and did my exam in 5 minutes flat. I have an astigmatism in my right eye, but I've always worn regular contacts, because the special contacts feel uncomfortable, which I've tried a couple of times in the past. The doctor insisted that I get the special contacts and made sure he overruled me when I protested. I was not very pleased with him, nor his impatience. In addition, he gave me the wrong prescription because he went so quickly. My eyes require two different powers on my lenses and he made them the same. Because of this, I suffered from blurry vision and my depth perception was off. I had to come back the next week to pick up my trial daily lenses and had to suffer for another week with a bad prescription, even though I told the store technician and manager that it was the wrong prescription. At my follow-up 1 week later, the optometrist was late 15 minutes, but seemed more congenial, at least. He redid my prescription and took the time to do it right this time, but fed me a line about how the store does not carry 0.25 increments in their trial lenses, which I thought was ridiculous. You don't make somebody wear the wrong vision prescription for 2 weeks. I give the doctor 2 stars, 4 stars for the other staff, and 4 stars for value (3.33 stars avg).
